[#1]5 Steps Of Writing
by Michael Small, Mic
Good SEO copywriters earn as much as $300 an hour. And that can be a bargain! Why? Because of something called the natural text algorithm (NTA). A few years ago Google started using NTAs to spot Web pages that were written more for search engines than real people. Correction, spot and penalize such pages is a more accurate statement.

The NTAs were clunky at first and really not much of a threat. But times have changed! Today's natural text algorithms can interpret the natural flow of written communication at the same level as a college student. The game has definitely changed. But don't worry. This is great news for you if you learn five simple steps the pros use to get top ranking and earn the big bucks.

Step 1: List your three top keywords in order of importance and then put the list aside. If you are interested in the technical nuts and bolts, right now we are establishing the topics of content.

Step 2: Call a friend and describe your Website's product or service. Feel free to show your excitement but try not to oversell.

Step 3: Write out what you said to your friend, word for word, or come as close as possible. If you can record the call, that's even better. Don't worry about correct sentence structure or anything else your last English teacher taught you. Jot down the conversation just as you spoke it. This is your "story." The ability to tell it naturally, as if chatting with your closest friend, is the best way to sway both the natural text algorithm AND the reader.

Step 4: Take out your keyword list and try to fit your most important keyword within the first sentence or two of your story. Now, still in the first paragraph, slip your second keyword somewhere in the middle. And then place your third search term (keyword) toward the end, but only if it fits naturally. If not, simply place it somewhere in the middle of the second paragraph. The beginning of the second paragraph is reserved for your top keyword again. Now feature only one keyword per paragraph for the remainder of your story (except the final paragraph.) Here's how to do it... Like we already said, begin the second paragraph with an early mention of your most critical keyword. Mention your second most important keyword toward the beginning of your third paragraph and so on for your final keyword. Don't use any keyword more than three times before the final paragraph. Here you have addressed both consistency and proximity. These are both key elements to SEO copywriting success.

Step 5: When you reach the bottom paragraph switch the order you have been following. In other words, start it off with your least important keyword and end it with your most important. This enhances the consistency and reinforces the importance of your topics (or keywords.)

It's that simple. Just remember the wise words of legendary SEO copywriter Karon Thackston "All Customers Are NOT the Same...Most Search Engines ARE." (Quoted from http://www.bestSEOcopywriting.com)

There's more to great SEO copywriting but these five quick and easy steps can put you head and shoulders above most competitors. Now go write your masterpiece!

Step 1

Decide on what topic you are going to write about and research it thoroughly. Decide on the keyword that you are going to use. When you write your article you are going to write it in an informative and helpful way. You don't have to be an expert. Just express yourself as you would normally.

Article ideas and formats you should follow

A) Write a how to or an article full of tips.
B) Write a top 10 article.
C) Write an inspirational article.
D) Write a testimonial or review of a product, service or method.
E) Write an interesting story that has happened to you.
F) Write an article about a hot topic in forums.
G) See what your competition is writing and base your ideas around that.
H) Write an article on a growing trend that you are seeing.

Step 2

Your title is extremely important as this is what captivates the interest of your reader. The key to having a successful title so that your article will be read is to use numbers in it. Psychologically it alerts the individual to your title. In addition you can use how to or tips. When writing a review or testimonial add exposed or uncovered. Your title needs to be short and to the point so that it grabs your reader's attention. Always have your keyword at the beginning of the title.

Here are some examples

B) Internet Marketing – The Top 10 Secrets Exposed.
C) Article Marketing – 5 Steps to Writing THE Perfect Article.
D) Make Money Work at Home - 5 Brand New Tips.

Step 3

Your article summary is of equal importance. It needs to have a beginning, middle and end. Your beginning should start with something like, finally or at last. Your middle is a description of what you are writing about but written in such a way as, imagine if. Your ending is a call to action. My description for this article reads.“Finally there is a way. Imagine what it would be like to write THE perfect article and generate a substantial amount of FREE traffic to your website. Now you can with this article.” The other importance of a powerful title and powerful description is that these are what people will see in their search engine results.

Step 4

Your article body information should be between 400 – 500 words long. It should be helpful, informative and give your audience good advice. It should repeat your keyword at least three times. Once in the beginning, once at the end and once in your link back to your website.

Step 5

Your authors resource box is where you want a call to action. This is so important but too many people do it completely wrong. They simply add their name and website address. The objective of article marketing is to get your reader to click on the link that you display. Therefore you have to give them a call to action. This is most effective when you offer them something for FREE. View mine below as a good example.
