It's very difficult today to find someone who hasn't ran across the concept of positivity or has not read a book or two on the topic of positivity. Just about every able person knows about the perks of positive thinking. But how many of us are utilizing the positive thinking method in our day to day life regularly?
ordinarily we dip into a book on positive thinking, get ambitious and then after few weeks --usually only after few days, go back to our normal method of thinking. Why do not we make positive thinking as our way of being? Is this form of thinking very not easy to take on, or is it that our environment and people around us are so negative that it is almost inconceivable for an individual to become positive and remain so?
Really if you contemplate about it, people really don't adhere with this positive-thinking thing. Why? Mainly Because of two reasons.
People fail to understand the essence of the inner workings of positive thinking and apply it in a wrong way.
We expect fast outcomes and when they do not see any clear benefit with in a period of two to three days they loose interest. And gradually their regular thought pattern returns back.
It is has been stated that Eighty percent of the thoughts of an everyday person are not positive. When we start thinking positively we just adjust to a new stream of thought --which is positive-- with all our negative thoughts. ?I make sales with ease?. This is a conscious thought stream. But in the evening returning home from work we keep thinking negatively and how difficult it is going to be. This negative thought comes to our mind automatically (unconsciously). We process this thought with lots of negative emotion. And all these happen without our being knowledgeable of what we are doing.
To liberate the full power of positive thinking we have to arrest and kill negative thought process. It is not back breaking and with practice it becomes easier.
So how do we get speedy results from our positive thinking efforts. The answer to this question is there is no easy way to get results overnight. When used properly positive thinking has the power to do wonders in your life. The best thing to do is get started. After that stay engrossed and the results will come.
You worked extremely hard to move up in your career ladder. In exchange for that, you neglected the people who love and care for you. You are too busy to find time for your family. Each time you promised to take your family to a nice vacation, you failed to fulfill it because you could not find the time.
Your family felt unhappy, and this made you feel unhappy. You failed to understand why your wife and children did not realize that you were slogging for them. You blamed your wife for not being accommodating, and your children for being too demanding.
In your workplace where you devoted much of your time at, you suffered the same fate. A small error can ruin your entire day and you find it hard to manage your temper. The stress is taking a toll on your mental health and you wondered why this was happening to you. You still persevered, making life more difficult for yourself.
Your appetite worsens and you are also losing sleep. You wanted to improve your health by going to a gym but never did so. Eventually, your health went downhill which makes you more frustrated and angry with yourself.
But you continued to live on a big, white hope ? the hope that tomorrow will be a better day. Tomorrow, you will have everything, and there will be no further need to spend long hours away from your family.
But did that happen? It did not. This is because you looked at external factors to find your happiness. You thought you would be happy if you could buy that big, white car or the beautiful hill on the house where the town's richest people lived. You never tried to find happiness in what you had -- a lovable wife, a pretty daughter, food on the table, a respectable job and friends who liked you.
You are easily affected by what your peers said about you. You wanted to get their approval so much that a small negative remark could upset your entire day. Frustration overwhelms you when your assignment was being handed to your rivals. In the entire day, you feel only anger, frustration, misery and jealousy.
You did not bothered to clear these negative emotions and eventually these negative emotions went home along with you. These negative emotions started to grow in your home which ultimately damaged the relationships you have with your wife and kids. To make yourself feel better, you turned to liquor which further aggravated your situation at home and at work.
This is just a typical story of any working adults in today's society. To stop yourself from falling into this vicious cycle, you need to take action now. Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish. Be sure that the list has yourself devoting sometime to your family and for you.
After you are done with your list, reorganize your schedule to make time for all the things you want to do. This is not to disrupt or disturb your life. The main purpose to set your priorities right. You will realize that you have found the way to happiness.
