[P225]Personal Goals In Life
by Matt Olinski, Mat
Example:
Joe: "Hey Bill, what's your plans after work today?"
Bill: "I'm gonna go home, eat dinner and watch TV. The new CSI episode is on."
Joe: "What's your plans for over the weekend?"
Bill: "I ain't doin a dang thing over the weekend."
Joe: "Great. I'll bet you meet your goal."

Example 2:
Joe: "Hey Bill, what's yours plans after work today?"
Bill: "I'm gonna go home, eat dinner, and spend an hour or two on the IPC Program".
Joe: "What's the IPC Program?"
Bill: "It's an internet-based Program that in a very short period of time, could change my life."
Joe: "What's it all about?"
Bill: "If you want to find out, why don't you come on over, and I'll explain the program to you. I'm expecting within a year or two not even to have to work this dead-end job anymore."
Joe: "Sounds great. I'll be over about 7:00. By the way, what are your plans for the weekend?"
Bill: "Well, Saturday, I've got to write a couple of articles, put up a few Craigs List Ads, and go over some live trainings."
Joe: "Wow, it sounds like your really into this stuff"
Bill: "Once you know what I know, you'll probably be into it too."

If you don't plan your life, how can you live your plan? All goal setting is, is sitting down with your wife or loved one, and deciding what it is in this life your want to achieve. Most people would start our very general, by saying they want a new house, they want a better job, they want more money, ect..., but they have no idea how to achieve that dream, so it remains a dream. With the IPC Program, your dream of more money can turn into a reality. Your goal setting, however, needs to be more specific than that. Not, I want a new house, but rather, I want a 4 bedroom 3 bath split level house on an acre of lakefront property with...and list all the amenities you want in that house just as if this was the only thing you had to give the realtor for what you wanted.

You need to do this in every aspect of your life, from your material wants and needs, to your financial wants and needs up to and including your goals with the IPC Program. (Example: My articles are all page 1 articles) Once you accomplish this, you need to visualize these goals as if they've already been achieved. Are you lying to yourself. "No, you are changing yourself into the person you want to be". Once you start acting as if these goals are already accomplished, you have the demeanor of an achiever, and you start to act in a way consistent with people that are achievers.

Example: When Barry McGuire was after Roger Marris home run record, that didn't happen by accident. That was his goal. He had Marris' record taped to his bathroom mirror. It was the last thing he saw at night and the first thing he saw in the morning. He visualized himself beating the record. He talked about it. Whenever he stepped to the plate, he saw it as another opportunity to get that much closer to beating the record. And what happened? He beat it. That's what positive visualization does.

Example 2: Johnny is ready to get up to bat. His father concerned about Johnny striking out sends a wrong message to Johnny. He says "Don't strike out, son." Johnny nervously says, "OK Dad, I won't" and even though Johnny tries "hard", the last words he hears are "don't strike out", and what happens, Johnny stuck out.

Where if Johnny's father sent a positive message, like "Johnny, go hit a homerun", or "don't hit the ball so hard you hurt the second basemen", now Johnny goes in with a positive attitude, and even if he doesn't hit a homerun, he'll probably get on base.

The reason for the above example is to illustrate positive attitude vs. a negative attitude. In example2, nothing has changed. The circumstances are exactly the same. Same pitcher, same catcher, same hitter. The only thing that changed was the attitude of Johnny, and that changed the whole dimension of the outcome. Not only did Johnny hit the ball, his self esteem got a boost, and his father could take the credit.

The same holds true with the IPC Program. If you go into it with a negative attitude, such as this is just another MLM scheme, or maybe I can make enough money to break even, and then I'll quit, that's not the attitude that will make you a success with this company. You need to go into it with an attitude of "I don't care what happens, I don't care what obstacles need to go over, under, or around, I will make this business work. You see, folks, Dan Miller, the CEO and President of the IPC Program, is no better or no worse a person than any of you. He goes to bed at night, he gets up in the morning, he puts his pants on the same way everyone else does. The big difference is he persisted. He worked hard on something he believed in, didn't quit, although I'm sure he would tell you that there were plenty of times he could've, and he made it happen. And now, at almost no cost, he's sharing all his best-kept secrets for success with you. And one word that he will never use and that over the years I've learned to never use, is the word "Can't". "Can't" is a weak word. It means you failed. It means "I give up". It means "I'm a quitter".There is nothing in this world than can't be done! You may not have the answer of how to do it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

There is a saying that "Everything that can be invented has been invented." It is attributed to a man named Charles H. Duell, who was the commissioner of the U.S. Patent office.........in1899!
In 1899, he thought he saw it all. That was before the invention of the automobile, the TV, the telephone, nevermind computers, Ipods, air conditioners, airplanes, walkmans, electric lights, the Apollo space program, WW1, WW2, racecars, tanks, atomic bombs, etc...

So, what is it that you really want out of this life? Are you content with your current position and standing in your life? Bob Mowad, the author of one of my self-improvement courses, says there are 2 different types of people in this world, a human being, and a human becoming.
A human being, by his definition, is someone that's already arrived at their goals, you can't change people, they are who they are.
A human becoming is someone that's always looking to be better, always looking to grow, always looking to change.

So which one are you? Which one do you want to be? Are you content or ambitious?
If you are a "human becoming" then not only do you have to visualize these dreams into goals, but then you need to plan for their accomplishment. You need to set a "completion date" for each of these goals
and you need to make a commitment to accomplish them by that date. Then you need to backdate.
Example:
June 2010 : I own a 4 bedroom split level on acre of property, ect.....
April 2010: I close on a 4 bedroom split level, ect...
Jan 2010: I put a deposit on a 4 bedroom ect....
Nov 2009: I have the deposit money saved to put down on a
Aug 2009: My wife and I are shopping for a 4 bedroom ect....

..and you backdate it all the way to the present day, so that you know what you have to do today tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, to get to your goals.

Example 2:
Dec 2008: I have Page 1 Articles on all article sites with the IPC Program
Nov 2008: I write 2 articles a week and post them with my Article Submitter
Oct 2008: I have 30 Craigs list ads up every week for the IPC Program

Try to stay on target for your goals.

Rules for Goal Setting:
Rules have to be realistic. By this I just mean, someone has to be able to have it.

Example of a Realistic goal "I own a single prop airplane (make and model) that I can fly across the country.
Example of an Unrealistic Goal " I want to fly like Mary Poppins or with no apparant apparatus of flight"
2 Rules have to be in sync. By this I mean you and your partner must work together to accomplish these goals. This is why it's so important to have you an your partner be on the same page. If your partner doesn't agree with a specific goal or goals, you need to modify it or them so that you're in sync.

No matter what direction you go through life, whether you do the IPC Program, or some other program, you need to live life on purpose. You need to live life on your own terms. And to be truly happy, you need to set goals, and set out to accomplish those goals. Good luck and God Bless.

What areas of your life need improvement? Do you want to find a great relationship, or strengthen the ones you have? Do you want to land a lucrative career? To become successful in life, you need to assess your goals. Setting up clear markers for yourself can aid you in your quest to become successful in life.

First of all, consider exactly what it is you want to accomplish. If being successful, to you, means that you have amassed great wealth, then decide how you are going to do that. Is it going to be by starting your own business? Do your research and take stock of your skills to decide how you can begin to earn that money.

For instance, if you already have a strong background in sales, then perhaps that is the best area to focus on. Do your research and you can begin. As a matter of fact, many people focus on this area when they think about how to become successful in life. Attaining prosperity does tend to be a marker of success.

What if, perhaps, your idea to become successful in life is more along the lines of building strong interpersonal relationships? Then it is quite important for you to understand the complexity of those relationships and begin fortifying them so as to eliminate the weaknesses.

Relationships, like any other venture, require constant upkeep to maintain a successful status. Therefore, if you are willing to be communicative and amenable to admitting your own flaws, you are more likely to be able to assess the relationships and move forward within the relationship(s).

Relationships are not the only arena wherein you may be looking for improvement, though. Having a lucrative career is a typical vision for people to identify as the place to start to become successful in life. Being accomplished in a career may mean something different to various people, though. For some, it could mean being recognized as outstanding and therefore routinely promoted to higher and higher positions of power within the industry. To others, it can mean completing your specific job duties so well that you are recognized as a high achiever. For example, a clerk may aspire to management within a retail store, and then to the corporate headquarters of said company.

Conversely, that same clerk may have no desire to leave the store, and would rather consider it quite successful to be routinely named the best clerk in the company.

No matter where you feel you need to improve so you can become a success in life -whether it is in relationships, in your job, or in both, it can be done. As with any other undertaking, your needs and wants must be addressed in an action plan. Without a plan, good fortune will not just happen. Planning, research, commitment, and clear, achievable goals are necessary elements that must be in place.

To become successful in life, all of these things are needed. Without these key ingredients for success, your efforts will not result in the desired outcome.
