York has over 2 million visitors a year, whether it's to see the Minster, Railway Museum, a walk along the Shambles, York Dungeons, Roman Bath Museum, Ghost Walks, or a boat cruise along the river. You can walk all the way round the great city walls. Also known, as Jorvik was an important trading center for the Vikings. The Minster has been plagued by fire over the years, but has always managed to survive it has kept its history and marvellous unique architecture.

Harrogate is famous for it's Turkish Baths, at least an hour and half is needed to spend here, Mother Shipton's Cave, tea shops, flower shows and antique shops. It's also famous for it's associations with Agatha Christie, the great mystery writer. She disappeared here for a few days back in the 1930's.

Ripon has a beautiful cathedral, Fountains Abbey and unforgettable Studley Royal Deer Park, with over 500 Roe and Fallow deer, watch them being fed, walk among them. Lightwater Valley Theme Park, there are halls and gardens. It also has a horseracing track. Not far from the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park, houses Britain's famous long distance footpath The Pennine Way, it's also featured in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. They were also inspiration for the classical works of the Bronte Sisters. There are plenty of caves and potholes to explore with underground rivers and waterfalls, huge chambers to explore. For solitude and natural beauty the Yorkshire Dales still amaze everyone.

The Yorkshire Moors stretch from the Vale of York, to the Yorkshire Coast. The Moors have fantastic scenery and walks, but always go prepared, even though the weather may be nice when you set out, it can change to wet, windy and thick fog in an instant.

The Yorkshire Coast has the popular resorts of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington. Whitby has been used in the TV programme Heartbeat and is also famous for its Scampi.

Thirsk is famous for the vet series All Creatures Great and Small, there is the Herriot Museum, which was the actual building used in the programme. For many years it was a staging post between London and the North.

All of these places have plenty of Hotels and B&B's and many other attractions.

1.) Soweto Market

For any tourists and visitors, a visit to the Soweto Market is a must. Here, you will definitely get to know more about the culture of the people of Zambia as you experience a part of their daily lives. You find can anything in the Soweto Market, from medicines to mechanical parts to vegetables, just be careful though of your bags especially if it contains money as there are pick-pocketers here.

2.) The Anglican Cathedral

You can find this cathedral in Lusaka, a city of Zambia. You will definitely enjoy seeing its stained glass windows and marvel at the building's elegance. This is also called the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

3.) Henry Tayali Gallery

This gallery is a must-see when you are in Lusaka. This houses artifacts and arts done by the Zambians. You can even buy some of these arts and have them shipped to your home country.

4.) Munda Wanga Environmental Park

This is a park as well as a sanctuary for many animals native to Zambia. You can also find here the Botanical Gardens where you will surely enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon after a hectic day of going to the different wonderful places that Zambia offers. There is also the Terrace Bar and Restaurant where you will surely enjoy a nice meal.

5.) Lilayi Lodge

This is a ranch that houses a lot of wildlife. In here, you can take a game drive which will tour you around the ranch and where you will see the variety of exotic animals that live in the area. It also offers modern amenities like a swimming pool as well as a magnificent restaurant.

6.) Victoria Falls

This is another popular tourist destination that got listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will get to see a waterfalls twice the height of Niagara Falls and much bigger, longer and wider than the Niagara. Anybody who sees its majestic beauty shall truly be enthralled by its magnificence.

7.) Livingstone Island

A visit to this island is surely something that a visitor should not miss. Here, you will get to enjoy a dip in the Devil's Pool or get to have your picture taken with a permanent rainbow as a background. You can only do this though during the UK summertime because of the changing water level.

8.) Chipata City

If you want to spend some quiet time with your loved one, then you can always hike up the Kanjala Hill. Once you reach the top, you will surely enjoy the magnificent sight of Chipata, and this hill is also perfect for picnics. You can also visit the Central Mosque when you are in Chipata.

9.) Kafue National Park

Recognized as one of the biggest parks that Zambia has to offer, this is also a favorite tourist destination. You can take boat trips here that will tour you along the Lufupa and the Kafue Rivers. There is also the popular game drive that you can take, and by doing so, you will get to see the many variety of wildlife that inhabit the park.

10.) Lower Zambezi National Park

This park is home to a myriad of wildlife like the elephant and the hippopotamus. You can also see lions here as well as leopards and their favorite prey, buffalos. You can have a great fishing experience along the river, or you can go canoeing.
