Lincoln also has a lot of tourists, for it's Castle and Cathedral. It was the hometown of the poet Lord Alfred Tennyson, whose statue sits in the grounds of the Cathedral. It also boasts the signing of the Magna Carta, one copy out of the four remaining ones now survives in the archives of the Cathedral. Stratford upon Avon is famous for William Shakespeare, it's one of the important tourist sites in England, and it has easy road, rail and airport access. Situated in Warwickshire. Many people go to Stratford other than for Shakespeare. It's an ideal setting for romantic breaks.
The Lake District in Cumbria, has some fantastic scenery, it is famous for its lakes, mountains and the poet Wordsworth. The Lake Windermere Steamers are the second most popular tourist attraction in the U.K. Lake Windermere is twelve miles long, one mile wide and 220 feet deep, it is the largest naturally formed lake in England. Ullswater is the second largest lake in the Lake District, ideal for fishing and cruising. There are walks, from a short amble, or for those of you who are more adventurous and daring mountain walks.

Eventually as we advance further North we approach Scotland, a country drenched in history, with striking views, architecture, castles, gardens and palaces. The most celebrated of all the Scottish castles is Edinburgh Castle with its lengthy building history where parts of the building have said to be created in the 12th Century. There are plenty to see and do here, with retail shops, eye catching buildings and the Crown Jewels of Scotland are situated here.
