[S385]Shooting A Paintball Gun
by Ben Needles, Ben
It might seem that buying a paintball gun would be very easy. However when you start to look at the range available, you will realize that there are many choices for you. There are so many different features available in a paintball gun such as some of the ability of fire three shots whilst some can actually play a ringtone. If this seems all a bit too complicated, just keep reading to discover what paintball guns you could buy.

To keep things simple, there are three basic categories for paintball guns. The first type is the all mechanical paintball gun which includes models such as Spyder Shutters and Tippmann 98s. There are also automags, autocockers and BTs to choose. They basically just operate by using a spring and air and there are no batteries needed. The designs are typically either stacked tube or single tube. You can easily change to velocity of the markers just by adjusting the tension of the spring or restricting the air flow.

Another choice is a sear tripper which have triggers that are electronically operated. This electronic technology is just in the grip of the gun and it doesnt have any effect on velocity or air pressure. However you can adjust the guns velocity by adjusting the air flow or spring tension. The reason for the electronics in the gun is that it affects the firing modes. You will generally need to have batteries in this gun and 12v is normal.

If you choose a fully electronic paintball gun then you will find that the electric trigger is what fires the marker. You really need to be careful about the air pressure in your marker because problems happen when the air pressure is too high. If you have one of these guns then they will use 12v batteries but the velocity used is a lot more reliable than the sear trippers.

Its very difficult to say which type is better because they all have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are new to paintball then choosing a mechanical marker is generally advised. Some people make the mistake of spending hundreds of dollars on a paintball gun they dont understand and is way above their level of expertise.

When it comes to actually buying your paintball gun you will find that buying online is probably the easiest choice and its very easy to compare prices. You dont have to spend a massive amount of money on your paintball gun as there are places online that sell them at very reasonable prices.
