A grinder of belt is a machine used to sandpaper quickly in bottom of wood and other materials to finish it. It is composed of an electric motor which turns a pair of drums on which a loop without seam of the sandpaper is assembled. The grinders of belt can be one or the other behavior in the hand, where the grinder is moved above the material, or stationary (fixed), where the material is moved with the belt of sandpapering. Stationary grinders of belt are sometimes assembled on a work put except play, in this case they are called put except play of the grinders. Stationary grinders of belt are often combined with a grinder of disc.

The grinders of belt can have a very aggressive action on wood and are normally used only for the stages commandants of the processes of sandpapering, or are used to remove the material quickly. Sometimes they are also employed with to remove paintings or completions of wood. Equipped with the fine sand paper of granulation, a grinder of belt can be used to ensure a completely soft surface. Stationary grinders of belt are used to remove the non-ferrous metals, such as aluminum. The non-ferrous metals tend to block wheels of grinding, making quickly them useless to rectify soft metals, whereas the grinders of belt continue to rectify without blocking.

It is because the small grooves of the sand paper are open while they circulate the arc of the wheel of drive.
