Just in case you thought Jesus isn't concerned with this you may want to consider some of the discussions he had with the Pharisees when he said " you whitewashed tombstones" or " you brood of vipers" when they tried to embrace false doctrine and promote their own religion.
Ever wonder why we have all these different denominations that have different beliefs about the scripture. It's because we have gotten away from the teacher. THE HOLY SPIRIT! The Holy Spirit always backs up Jesus and everything he did. There aren't 52 different ways to interpret any given scripture there is only one. God's interpretation. After all there is one God, one baptism, one saviour and one divine truth.
The Holy Spirit is not confused about what the Bible says. He was sent to lead us into all truth. The problem is that some denominations would rather hold to their little church doctrines. Most of the time they are trying to exclude vitally important principles of God. God has tolerated this in the past but I believe this will change in these final days.
"Well Brother, we just don't believe in that speaking in tongues thing. We think that passed away with the disciples. We don't accept that here in our church".
Is that so? I guess you'd better rip a few pages out of the Bible then. I have a problem with that because Jesus said this at the end of Mark 16:17 "and these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and they will drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well."
As you can see Jesus clearly says if you are a believer you will speak in new tongues. Paul said " I thank God I speak in tongues more than you all". Speaking in tongues is actually the Holy Spirit in you praying the perfect will of the father on your behalf. You can either believe the scripture or you can hold to church doctrine and be politically correct among the church.
If you aren't speaking in tongues presently you are missing out on hearing from God. It has been my experience that the more you speak in tongues (not knowing what the spirit is praying) the quicker you begin to hear God in English (or whatever your native language may be) in your spirit. Detailed specific instructions will begin to come forth for your specific call. God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
This natural body we live in was not meant to understand the things of God as they are spiritually discerned. Our flesh is constantly warring against God. Even after we get born again we still have to learn to put to death the ways of our flesh.
In the second chapter of acts we see that God sent the baptism of the Holy Spirit. After this all the disciples moved in power and were able to lay hands on the sick and even raise the dead.
In these last days, in the coming revival, we will see this happening more frequently. It will come through those who are bold enough to step out of false doctrine and believe God for power to do the same things Jesus did and even greater things. Those who spend long hours speaking in tongues in their prayer closet. Those who put to death their fleshly ways and embrace change towards Christ. Every revival is always first birthed in the spirit by prayer. This is an exciting time we live in.
Who would you rate as the most important artisan in human society? Chances are that you did not choose "construction worker" as your answer. Without the construction worker we would not have buildings, bridges, roads, malls, there would be nothing really. You wouldn't be able to go to the hospital for unforeseen emergencies because it wouldn't exist. And you wouldn't be able to argue with your spouse on your iPhone on your way to work. Why? Because the road you are driving on wouldn't exist.
The job of the construction worker is one that is always forgotten unless, while you are on that iPhone, you run into a traffic jam caused by a construction route.
The construction workers are not to blame for inadequate, delayed or wrong planning. They are actually doing their best to help us out. But construction workers are responsible for bringing life to the cities that we dwell in, and for not only making them lively, but making them safe as well. There are different kinds of construction workers that offer us varying elements of peace of mind every day, without us even realizing it.
Remember marveling at the fabulous building or shopping complex? Did you take a moment to stop and think of the labor of love that went into that structure to ensure you had a cozy fire to sit next to? Probably not. But the construction worker that was responsible for those unforgettable moments of yours is known as the bricklayer.
This is a man that installs or repairs brick structures such as your chimney or fireplace, your walkway or driveway, or your beautiful brick home. This worker is no dummy. They need to be able to create and perform strict calculations, problem solve, conduct document interpretation for building layouts, and organize routines and tasks on a daily basis. In every corner of your home, you see the signature mark of the construction worker who helped make your house a home.
Have you visited a jazz club? Do you enjoy the many pleasures of a dancing joint? Many people do across all age demographics and it is easy to understand why. Nightclubs and jazz clubs are a fun way to relax with some friends and unwind after a long week. Perhaps you are one of those that appreciate the joys of the disco ball and the dance floor.
Next time you are on the dance floor enjoying all the fun a disco ball, consider what it took to ensure this ball was placed there for you. Disco balls are rotating spheroids that hang from the ceilings and produce a number of light reflectors at the people beneath them. To install a disco ball requires the labor of skilled engineers and construction workers to ensure the ball is not only hung properly so that it works efficiently, but that it is hung in a manner that will be safe for all patrons.
So when your friends and family are out enjoying, do remember that there was a group of construction people who toiled around the clock with efficiency and accuracy to make your fun possible.
New gadgetry such as the iPhone seems attractive to many. But remember that basic pieces of construction are also as marvelous. It is not just the job that the construction worker needs to complete. It is also the matter of your safety and well being that is being addressed here.
