We all know that traffic is the lifeline of the internet, right? And if you don't have traffic, then you are not going to have much success with your online business. Most people find it very hard to get traffic to their website when they start out on the internet but it does not have to be. I am going to help you out and share some of my tactics for generating traffic.
One of the best and easiest tactics that I have used is forums. Forums are great because to get traffic from them, all you really need to do is join in the discussions with other members. Most forums allow you to include a "signature" with your posts and this can be a link to your website and some descriptive text, then as you start to contribute to the forum discussions, your signature will gain more exposure and other members will hopefully click on it.
When trying to find forums to join, you should be looking for ones that are targeted to your business as you want to reach people that are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. If you are trying to sell a cooking product then you would look for cooking forums. This is very easy to do, you just go to google and search for "cooking forum" and it should return the results you are looking for.
Do not join forums and simply blatantly advertise your website as this is very obvious and is severely frowned upon in most forums. Instead, just join the forum, create an appealing signature and start contributing useful posts and information to the ongoing discussions. This will also brand you as being an authority figure in the field if you can provide quality information and help others out and it may even give you a chance to create some business partnerships with other marketers in the field.
The main point for being successful with forums is to give to the forum and they will give back.
Another very easy way og gaining traffic is to exchange links with other websites that are relevant to yours and then you can trade traffic between each other. This is a very simple process to do. You go to google and search for websites that are relevant to yours and then just email the owner and ask if they would like to have a link to their on yours in exchange for a link to your site on theirs. This can also help with search engine rankings too.
Many sites already have link directories set up for the sole purpose of exchanging links with other sites and will be more than happy to exchange with you. This is a common practise for many websites.
Let's say you get just one visitors a month from each link you get, well if you get one hundred links, then you get one hundred visitors a month and just image one thousand links and if you believe that it would be too hard to get that many links or it would take too long, then you are wrong my friend. Many, many sites are in the same position as you and they want to increase their traffic as well. If you start exchanging you will be surprised by the amount of websites that wish to exhange links with you.
You can join link exchange services that will help you find suitable link partners and in many cases they will contact you instead of you having to contact them. You can find such services by searching google for them.
That's it for part 1 of traffic tactics but keep an eye out for number 2.
We recognize that some men are afraid to get too into their grooming ? that's regarded as ?sissy stuff? in some quarters. But let's face facts ? as Billy Crystal used to say, ?It is better to look good than to feel good.? So make sure your haircut is up to snuff by following our top nine haircut tips!
1. Make Your Haircut Picture-Perfect
Again, this is something girls are much better at than boys. If they see a new hairstyle in a beauty magazine that they just looooove, they cut it out and bring it in to show to their stylist. You can do the same. You see a haircut you like in a magazine? Hey, rip out the page and bring it in to the barber (maybe buy it first ? when you do that in a store, it's frowned upon by the management).
2. Know What Makes a BAD Haircut
We're not talking about an obviously bad haircut here ? like the one that prompted a woman in a Swedish hair salon to actually bite the proprietor in retaliation ? we're talking about the subtle barbershop basics that a bad barber doesn't bother with.
For example, with a fresh haircut, you shouldn't see visible lines between sections cut with clippers and sections cut with shears. It shouldn't look ?blocky.? Instead, you should see a properly blended, straight not crooked, transitional line, and not something that resembles an interstate on a road map.
Look for expert tapering, good blending and clean trimming around the ears. Or look for a new barber!
3. Be Realistic About Your Head
Barbers aren't miracle-workers when it comes to your basic looks ? so don't expect yours to turn you into George Clooney if you more closely resemble his aunt Rosemary Clooney (the later years). Also don't insist on a haircut that doesn't suit your head shape - or the amount of hair left on your head, if Mother Nature is in the midst of taking more than a little off the top. A good barber will gently guide you to what's best for your scalp's situation ? and, since he knows his business, let him go about it and make you look as good as possible!
4. Find the Right Barber
What's the best way to find a barber? You know how, when you're in a restaurant, you see someone eating something that looks really good and you tell the waiter, ?I'll have that!?? Same principle. You see a guy with a great haircut that's your style, just ask him where he got it.
Also, go to a place with real men's barbers. You want someone who only cuts men's hair ? none of this unisex salon stuff. Cutting men's hair and women's hair are two different disciplines - so always seek out the specialist!
That's it for now - we'll be back later this month with the second half of our Top 9 Tips on Getting a Great Haircut. In the meantime, be on the lookout for the kind of haircut you'd like to have.
