[S555]Slice Of The Pie
by Fred Nicklaus, Fre
Now I'm more than willing to drive the extra mile especially if it's for something special like a Honey crisp apple. I drove for about 40 minutes and I pulled into Ecker's Apple Farm which is a few miles west of Centerville, Wisconsin.

Now I could have gotten my Honey crisp apples a long ways before Centerville but a friend recommended this place as something different. There is a little house there where they sell apples, jam, and pie. Well you know that morning is as good a time as any to satisfy my sweet tooth and I have to order up a piece of that homemade apple pie.

A young gal brings my pie out to me and as I'm eating a little old lady comes out and starts talking to me. She asks where I'm from and I tell her La Crosse. She says, "you've come a long way for a Honey Crisp apple." I tell her that I sure did but heard that this was such a nice little place that I had to make the journey.

She goes on to tell me that as the pie maker, and she ought to know about pies because she and her pie making gang make 1,400 pies on average over the season, there are 4 McCintosh and 1 Honey crisp apple in each of the pies. She also tells me that the Honey crisp gives the pie the right moisture.

I'm soaking up all of this information and tell her that I'm going to bring my mother in law and wife back with me so she can sit down and give her recipe to them. Maybe not, I'm not sure having all those pies around the house would be a good idea. Anyway, it's been fun learning about her pies and eating a really great slice of pie. So what's the moral of this story as it has to do with confident kids. Simply this, be sure to always look to get a slice of the pie.

What I mean is get out, meet, and learn things from people. Most folks are more then happy to share their stories with you and really appreciate when you take a moment to listen to what they have to say. The nice lady that told me about her pies must have been close to 80 years old. Can you imagine a walking, talking history book. I'm planning to go back there and sit down with her and talk about pies and other things she knows about.

It's good to try new things and seek out learning opportunities. They're all around you. All you have to do is get up and get moving. Your world is filled with energy and great things to learn. Use your imagination and your motivation and make it happen.

Here's to you finding your own great stories, Fred Nicklaus

Banners up? Cookies distributed? No, I'm not inquiring about the success rate of your local church fair, but actually about the effectiveness of your online marketing strategy. Internet marketing is fast becoming one of the most important advertising mediums around and to miss out on the benefits of SEO could have dire consequences for your business. The simple truth is that a business which lacks an online presence in this digital age might as well be invisible.

A lot of business owners, particularly those with a brick and mortar presence in the market place, prefer traditional media like print, radio and television ads. The biggest factors preventing business owners from employing search engine marketing experts to optimise their websites include, respectively, distrust and cost. When you think about it, this does make sense in a way ? how much money would you be willing to fork out for an internet marketing campaign if you were told that the results could take up to three months to be noticeable? It would take some convincing to get your chequebook out, wouldn't it? The following facts might change your mind.

Let's explain it by means of an example. Say for instance XYZ Events Coordinators has a website lacking optimisation for key phrases web users would type in to get hold of their services i.e. ?event planning?. This will mean their target audience will be unable to find their website when researching the kind of service XYZ provides. Being invisible to search engines will mean that XYZ will have to spend a lot of money doing outbound marketing, pouring their valuable marketing resources into things like direct mailing, print ads or television and radio advertisements.

Although tried and tested, all of these traditional modes of advertising share a common denominator ? they are intrusive. For more information logon to www.split-test-profits.com. When you use this kind of ?push? marketing you are forcing your message on your target audience, a tactic that is fast becoming redundant as consumers wise up to traditional advertising strategies.

In contrast, when you spend your time and money making your website more search engine friendly you will be able to communicate directly to people who are already looking for the kinds of products and/or services you provide. This is great because you'll no longer have to influence your target audience's way of reasoning, you simply have to merge with their existing way of thinking. In essence you are reaching the very people that are looking for the information you have. What could be better than that?

Furthermore, SEO represents a long-lasting approach to marketing that embraces an actively evolving medium. An online marketing strategy is also a far more affordable option for small to medium businesses than traditional advertising mediums usually are. The costs for a direct mail campaign, for example, can significantly add up over time; while a single TV ad can blow a small business owner's marketing budget for the entire year. On the other hand, if a small business starts off by optimising their website early on in their developmental phase they could run a good SEO campaign, a business blog and a PPC program for the same amount of money it would cost to run a single medium-size print ad for 20 days a month.

That said, traditional advertising media still has, and will probably always have, a firm foothold in the market place. For more information logon to www.popups-generator.com.

The point is to be open to alternatives. If your current marketing campaign is not working, SEO could make a world of difference. If it is, a sound.
