With all the reality television series popping out left and right, it is not hard to see why many would be led to question the sincerity and realism of such shows. Even the ones which served as pioneers of this growing trend have become somewhat ?too real? to be believable, making it harder for viewers to trust the show and its? participants.
Take Amber Alchalabi, for example. She is one of the few remaining bachelorettes on The Bachelor: Officer and A Gentleman. Oftentimes, Amber, an elementary teacher in Texas, has been heard talking about her students with bachelor Andy Baldwin, saying that she has found it difficult to be away from her beloved fourth graders. However, in an embarrassing turn of events, the parents of her students have rebut Alchalabi's claims, saying that a teacher who cares so much about her students would not leave them in the midst of their preparation for an important exam like Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test. The issue further escalated when the parents found out that Alchalabi had lied to them about where she was going and when the show came to the school to shoot some episodes.
Given all this, it most certainly seems like Alchalabi had been putting up a front and pretending to be a sweet and endearing young woman in order to capture the heart of the handsome bachelor. However, it would be quite silly to think that a smart woman like Alchalabi would present such a false image knowing that her words and actions would be broadcast on national television. Surely, if she truly wanted to make Baldwin fall for ?I'm-such-a-good-teacher? act, she would not have done so while the cameras were rolling, lest her cover would be blown. And with regards to her lying about her real whereabouts, Alchalabi was forced to give false information about her absence because her contract with the show called for it.
True, one can argue that if her feelings towards her students are sincere, then the choice she would have made would have been in their favor, which would have meant not joining the show at all in order to help her kids with their test preparation. However, that decision is not too easy to make when confronted with a heart yearning to find great love.

To kick if off in fashion, the award winning company Southern Land Company is bringing together all of the players in an old time charrette.
A charrette is a focused brainstorming session held at the beginning of a development project to foster collaboration among a broad cross section of stakeholders.
Pretty soon, the old Imperial Sugar Mill Company and the surrounding mill and refinery will host a new development designed to include commercial, retail and residential opportunities in a neighborhood setting.
The weeklong activity began on Sept. 18. A web site goes live on Tuesday, Sept 19 showcasing the highlights of the event including video and information about Sugar Land, Texas.
