[T19]Take A Time Out
by Martin Haworth, Mar
Time management in itself has proved to be an important elemant of modern-day business management (of activities) . To attain the highest performance standards and quality in your management career, you've got to get this right.

There are some skills which may need a little practice, or your capacity to manage your time adequately would stay very tricky. So we need to take a look at what's involved, so that we can take the best shot at getting it right.

There are lots of ideas on the subject around. There are some great books, like Mark Forster's "Get Everything Done and Still Have Time to Play" and many resources online too. Not forgetting that many management related organisations and colleges hold classes that are often great value.

It is always worth looking at a local college which might have something to suit you - especially if they have links with one of the major business schools, though these days, mini-topics such as Time Management are offered as modules which are free-standing and can be used one their own.

Remember that just a little thought about how you spend your time will often kick-start the change process. If you 'notice' how things are, you will be far more inclined to start to make little changes that will make all the difference.

For a couple of hints, remember that you can always assess those things that you personally don't need to do - this often indicates that you are finding 'nice-to-do' rather than necessary to do things - for yourself to enjoy, which is OK, as long as it isn't getting in the way of where you best add value.

A great way of looking at time management is to consider what you would do if you only had half the time in your week - where would you best spend that time. Concentrates the mind, doesn't it?

If you are faced with challenges about managing your time, remember that if you keep doing the same thing, you are likely to get the same results. Making changes will often deliver outcomes which are far better than what you've been putting up with.

No one can make sure that you do time management better. It's rather down to you to step up and be counted!

We would equate happiness to being in a relationship and then we go start looking for one and ironically, the more we want to find it the more it evades us. This should not be the case because singles are fabulous and you should take your time.

For some women in their late twenties, being single may start to feel like a curse. This is a time when almost everyone they know is either dating, being engaged or getting married. Perhaps this is why women belonging in this age group start to feel hurried about finding someone. It is also the optimal time for dating because it is a time where one gets to be more mature and stable.

Previous dating experience and age by this time has provided the person enough knowledge to determine what he or she wants in a partner. Furthermore, it is also a time wherein many choices are to be made to put direction in their lives in order to bring their plans into fruition.

If you are still single during this time, do not rush. Take your time and enjoy what is happening around you. Being in a relationship is not the answer to happiness or a cure for loneliness. There are many people who are in a relationship but are still not happy. It is better to be alone rather than being with someone and become miserable.

There is always a good and bad side in every situation and looking at the good side always helps. One of the benefits of being single is that you have more freedom than those who are in a relationship. Being alone gives you the liberty to do what you want with your time. Make use of this time to enjoy and take care of yourself. Go to a gym, read, take a class or anything that is pleasurable to you.

Contrary to what other people believe, being alone can be very enjoyable. It gives us time to catch up with ourselves and gives us more perspective with our affairs. Singles have all the time in the world to focus on their careers. Being in a relationship can be a juggling act and sometimes finding the balance between all other affairs can take a toll with work. If you are single, you can focus your time and energy on top priorities such as work.

Singles also have more time to spend with their friends and family. Sometimes being in a relationship gives you less time to be with them because there is another person who needs you. Contrary to what other people think, being single can be fabulous because you have all your time to take care of yourself, enjoy, and grab every opportunity and experience that will come your way. This is a time for you to be independent and be your own person. This is your time.
