The main events in honour of St Patrick will take place on the 15th of March in various areas of London, but many events will take place before and after, making amusement last several days. Is there a better chance to plan a travel to London, go to one of the most visited European cities, rich in art and history, and to discover Irish culture, music and food at once? London's St Patrick's Day Festival will give you the possibility to discover something more about Irish traditions, and it will do that in some of the most famous locations of the city, like Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Celebrations will begin on the 9th of March and end on the 17th, featuring live music, Celtic dances, food stands and many other cultural events: London's hostels and centre will be overcrowded with many tourists that will grab the chance to do a full immersion in Irish culture.

Those who have a passion for cinema will go to the Barbican to enjoy a good Irish movie, while art lovers will be given the possibility to follow a special route at the National Portrait Gallery to discover something more about some outstanding Irish people like Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw and their relationship with the city of London. Apart from these cultural events, St Patrick's day festival will be characterised by its unquestionable revelry atmosphere: and some of the best places where to celebrate, indeed, will be Irish pubs, where you will have the opportunity to listen to Celtic music, taste a pint of Guinness and some delicious Irish food. In this regard, visitors will have the possibility to taste some typical dishes also thanks to the stands on various squares. And it is on streets and squares that a joyful atmosphere will mainly spread, above all on the 15th of March, when St Patrick's festival and parade will take place. The festival will be held in Trafalgar Square and will host, from 12:00 to 6:00, various performances of Irish music bands and dance companies, which will certainly involve the audience, while the parade will go through some of the most representatives areas of the city. From Hyde park Corner to Whitehall Palace, through Piccadilly, Lower Regent Street and Trafalgar Square, the parade will bring music and cheerfulness in various zones of London, with its traditional store of floats, music bands, dancers and much more.
