With so many new cars and updated modelsout there I thought it important to examine this year's fleet and establishwhich cars stood up to be counted. Some of the most important factors toconsider in my choices I were running costs (fuel consumption, costs, general running costs), looks and safety features (for both passengers andpedestrians) so without any further stalling, here they are?
FordFocus
As the top selling car in the UK, the Focusis a firm favourite and the new, faster and prettier model has notdisappointed. In 2008 the Focus received a five star rating and the ST modelshave been made even racier. The Focus will continue to sell well as the latestmodel has definitely improved!
VauxhallInsignia
The replacement for the Vauxhall Vectra iscalled the ?Insignia? and it was premiered at the 2008 British motor show andmade quite an impression. Borrowing some lines from the GTC concept car thatwas shown at the Geneva motor show, the Insignia is a beautiful car at areasonably price. Vauxhall are indeed back.
CitroenC5
The Citroen C5's of old were a littleplain, but a little insane at the same time. The new C5 has raised the bar forfour door saloons with its bold, brave lines and inventive design. And that isjust on the outside, because on the inside it feels like you might be captainof the Starship Enterprise with its ?fixed-hub steering wheel? where the centreconsole doesn't move while you turn the steering wheel.
These cars are all reasonably priced and policies forthem won't ruin your bank balance. So those are quite possibly the mostimportant family cars to be released in 2008, but keep an eye out for morearticles on the top supercars of the past year as well as what we can lookforward to in 2009.
