You should check following things with the companies where you would be given project training.

1. The project you are going to work should be live project: If the project given to you is not a real life live project, company will have casual approach towards you and your project. That is the biggest obstacle for you to get a good live project experience. YOUR CAREER DEPENDS ON YOUR FINAL SEMESTER PROJECT. Most of the companies will not prefer to interview you after pass out if you have not done a live project in final semester.

2. The professional Design of Project: Especially for web projects, you should have worked on a project which has professional GUI. Most of the students think that knowing just .Net and PHP is good enough to do the project, which is partially true. You should have experience of working on professionally designed GUI, that is given by Web designer. Otherwise no matter how good your project is, if its not presentable, you don't secure good marks and neither you attract your future employer. The company where you are doing project should assign a web designer to your project.

3. International versus domestic: It doesn't matter where you do project normally but it's always good to get project in a company having International Clients. This way you can get international client exposure and you can understand the requirement of International market. The companies having international clients have good English speaking culture that helps to improve your communication skill.

4. Paid versus Free: Most of the students have dilemma that Shall we do project where companies are asking some fee for project?. There are very few companies who are ready to spend their time and resources on Project Trainees. It takes their space, people, and overheads to train them. While those who charge some amount for training is recovering their cost with your fee. So if you are getting a good place, good company with live project, don't hesitate to pay a reasonable fee. You have invested lot more amount till you have reached to final semester; a little more addition to that amount might change your career.
