Prosperity, harmony, loving relationships, infinite joy and happiness all begin with thought. All of your thoughts, every single one, have an influence on what you are experiencing in life. Change your thoughts and you, literally, change your life. Can you figure out why the vast majority of individuals, groups and nations encounter the very same challenges and problems over and over again? Why do you think even people who have been travelling the self improvement path for many years still face the same toils and troubles they did when they first began their journey?

I believe it is because these people refuse to take 100% responsibility for their own lives. It is always easier to blame someone or something else for there woes. I also believe that these same people fail to understand what full responsibility means. Are you one of them? Of course taking full responsibility for everything that happens to you doesn't mean you intentionally created that car accident, or the illness or the relationship break-up. However, in your thinking you planted the seed for these things and allowed them to grow in your mind. If you analyse your previous thoughts and behaviour honestly you will find that your negative thinking around these issues was indeed very strong! If these thoughts become dominant and continually repeated over time they will form a predominant way of thinking - an automatic response to life. You then find yourself daydreaming about negative things, totally unaware that you are doing it most of the time and just how often you are doing it. If you become emotionally connected at the time of these daydreams or random thoughts you are drawing these things to you even faster!

When you are not consciously directing your thoughts and feelings you are actually creating by default! You are merely lacking in a full understanding of the great universal Law of Attraction. Every one of your thoughts is creative! Some thoughts get cancelled out, some take years to manifest and others get muddled up in indecision ? one minute you think "I want an extra $400 a week in income" then the next minute you think "But I could only ever expect $200" then again you think "Maybe I could push for $300". Continued thinking along these lines keeps you stuck. If you have a tendency to think negatively then you will find that the things in your life that you do not want to experience are the very things that you are drawing to you. Creating by default is only advisable if you "first seek the kingdom of heaven and all these things will be added on to you", Matthew 6:33. If you are 100% positive in your feelings and thoughts then you can create by default but let's face it are you such a human being?

Once you understand the Law of Attraction and the power of all your thoughts you must begin to create what you want in your life in a conscious and deliberate way. Do you have a tendency to deny any responsibility for creating the things in your life that you do not like? Well until you understand your own power and accept responsibility for your thoughts, feelings and actions you cannot create deliberately. You must accept that the good, the bad and the ugly are all your creations and they are merely reflecting aspects of your own being (thoughts and feelings).

Another big hurdle to being a deliberate creator is trying to please others. Are you a hostage to the wants and expectations of other people? Well if you are you should know that there is no possible way to ever satisfy these wants or expectations because as you satisfy one another will appear. You cannot live your life for someone else. People who try to control others feel totally out of control in their own lives! They are never satisfied, so you trying to live your life to please them is a pointless quest!!

You must begin to focus on what you want not what others want for you! Basically, if you find that you are more focused on the things that you do not want then you will attract more of those things to you. However, if you begin to focus on those things that you do want you will find that you attract those things to you. It is for this very reason that most self improvement teachers tell you to practise an attitude of gratitude. By being grateful for the things you have in your life you draw more of those things to you and through the Law of Attraction you draw other things to be grateful for to you also. Every time you a thought or feeling you are creating. Anytime you place your attention or focus on something you are drawing more of that to you. This is a never ending process. However, your creations are mostly by default! Armed with this knowledge you now have access to the power that can create anything and everything you want. By training yourself to change your focus, from what you don't want and moving it in the direction of what you do want, you will change your life beyond recognition. Use your emotions as a guide to how you are thinking. If you feel good when you are thinking then do more of that. If you feel bad when you think about certain subjects stop yourself in your tracks and reverse your thoughts until you start to feel good. In this way you will condition yourself for success and join the ranks of the deliberate creators!

The Law of Attraction is often described as ?Like Attracts Like.? While that is true on some levels it is also a simplification of the Law. The fact that it is a Universal Law means that it is always operating whether you know it or not. It is more constant than the Law of Gravity. You can find ways to overcome the Law of Gravity to fly an airplane or launch a rocket. The Law of Attraction cannot be overcome.

Although the Law of Attraction is a Universal Law, it can also be described in scientific terms as a theory.

The first definition of Theory as defined by Wordnet.com? is ?a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of circumstances to explain a specific set of phenomena.?

The third definition at Wordnet? says a theory ?is a belief that can guide behavior.?

So the Law of Attraction is definitely a theory. And while the LOA is not a tool to be wielded like a hammer, when it is used to guide behavior you can improve the quality of your life.

Just talking about the LOA, without getting more fundamental, glosses over the basic underlying truth that you create your own reality. You create your own reality and the Law of Attraction is the force that makes that possible.

Thoughts Create Reality

You create your own reality. The question is then; are you doing it consciously or unconsciously? Well, the truth is you are always creating your reality both consciously and unconsciously. Much of this unconscious creation is guided by limiting beliefs usually formed as very small children. Perhaps no one still living on this plane of existence is free from unconscious creation. Learning to create consciously may be part of the work we come to this life to do.

You create your reality by what you give your attention to. So if you give your attention to things that you are happy and grateful for, then you will create more things to be happy and grateful about. If you give your attention to complaining and negativity then you will create more things to complain about.

Therefore your work is to continually create more of your life consciously. One way to do that is to focus on your thoughts. You can take conscious control of some of your thoughts by the use of affirmations.

But with over 50,000 thoughts a day, it is impossible to control every thought that you have. That's why Abraham-Hicks.com recommends using your guidance system. The universe created you as a perfect being; therefore it provided you with a guidance system. Your guidance system works on a vibrational basis.

Your feelings Are Your Guidance System

Abraham explain what your vibrational guidance system is in Ask and it is Given :

Anything that you give your attention to will become your ?truth? and help to create your own reality. The Law of Attraction says that it must. Your life, and everyone else's, too, is but a reflection of the predominance of your thoughts. There is no exception to this. p.56

Once you begin to understand the correlation between what you are thinking, what you are feeling, and what you are receiving, now you have it. Now you hold all the keys that are necessary to get from wherever you are to wherever you want to be, on all subjects. p.58

When emotions are strong-whether they feel good or feel bad ? your desire is strong. When emotions are weak, your desire is not strong.

When emotions feel good ? whether they are strong or weak-you are allowing the fulfillment of your desire.

When emotions feel bad ? whether they are strong or weak-you are in the state of disallowing the fulfillment of your desire.

Your emotions are absolute indicators of your vibrational content. Therefore, they are the perfect reflection of your current point of attraction. They help you know, in any moment, whether or not you are currently allowing the fulfillment of your desire. p.66

Using the Law of Attraction

So using the Law of Attraction to create your own reality is really about using your guidance system.

The simple 3 Step formula for creating what you want is

1 ? Ask

2 ? Allow

3 ? Receive

The hardest part of that formula is Step 2 ? Allow. That's where you get into the work of making sure that you and your guidance system are pointed in the direction of what you want. There may be limiting beliefs or habitual negativity that keep you point in direction of what you don't want. You can know if this is the case, if you think about what you want and your mind comes back with any of the following statements:

?I can never do that.?

?That's impossible.?

?But I don't have the money.?

?But I'm not attractive enough.?

Or any other thought that negates what you just said you wanted. If you get a negative or defeating feeling that is the same as having the verbal or nonverbal negative thought. Those thoughts can get in the way when you are working to create your own reality.

Fortunately there are ways to turn around those negative and limiting beliefs. The many processes provided in Ask and It is Given and Abraham's other books to help you direct your feelings and guidance system so that you are moving in the direction of what you want.

Please be easy on yourself. It has taken years to create the reality you are currently living. It will most likely take some time to shift your thoughts, feelings and beliefs to create what you really want. Just remember the old adage:

Mile by mile, life's a trial.

Yard by yard, life is hard.

But inch by inch, life's a cinch!
