It's the new trend in Hollywood. Having babies - and proudly sporting the bump prior to the blessed event - is all the rage. Celebrities everywhere are making fashion statements out of everything baby, from the bump itself to the clothing that dresses it to the designer diaper bags. After the baby is born, it is quite fashionable now to parade your child around town. Years ago, stars went into hiding to have their children … but not anymore!

The last few years have seen a surge in stars baring their pregnant bellies proudly and more so in their 30s and 40s than the younger starlets in their 20s.

Lately, Christina Aguilera has been seen pointing to her baby bump on stage, clearly showing through the thin filmy stage clothes she wears. However, she hasn't come out publicly yet and admitted that she and her husband are expecting. Another one who is teasing the public lately is Jennifer Lopez. JLo has gone on David Letterman, other talk shows and even a music tour and has not admitted to pregnancy. She is one of the few that, while remaining coy about the rumors, refuses to highlight the bump by wearing clingy clothes. What started the whole thing were tight aqua-colored pants and top that revealed that bump while JLo was onstage. Since then, she has been seen mainly in flowy frocks and blousy dresses. For some reason, talk show hosts and interviewers are not directly asking "Are you pregnant?" and Jennifer Lopez isn't telling. Not only is the fact that she is pregnant still a ‘secret', there are already rumors circulating that she is carrying twins.

Halle Barry has more than a bump by now, and Gwyneth Paltrow has had how many … two? Three?

Of course, once the bumps are gone the babies themselves take the spotlight. There can be no denying the absolute frenzy surrounding the birth of Suri Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. This little girl was shrouded in mystery for the first few months of her life, and was not really ‘bump-worthy' as her parents tried to keep Katie's pregnancy and birth very private. Once she was a toddler, though, Suri became quite the seasoned celebrity, all smiles for the camera.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's brood just keeps growing. Shiloh, of course, is the only biological child of the Pitt-Jolie clan, but adopted or biological; all of their kids are media hounds whether or not they want to be. Zahara is already known as a wild girl, and Maddox is known as a fashion icon despite the fact that he is five years old and has no clue what he is wearing, to be sure. We aren't quite sure what Pax's claim to fame is yet, as he seems to be the quietest of the clan.

And how about the twin craze? Marcia Cross gave birth to twin girls, Eden and Savannah, in February of this year and the girls are her first children. Holly Hunter, too, gave birth to twins this past winter - at 47 years old! Melissa Ethridge and her partner Tammy Lynn Michaels are the proud new parents of a son and daughter, thanks to an anonymous donor. Tammy actually birthed the twins, and this is the first set of children for the couple although Melissa had children in a previous relationship. Obviously, we will wait and see whether JLo adds to the twin craze!
