The word "Bible" comes from the Egyptian word for parchment, Byblos. The Greek word biblios means books or scrolls. Later, it was translated into Latin, Biblia, meaning "book."

When the Holy Scriptures took the name: Bible?
In the fifth century, the name Bible began to be given to the entire collection of sacred books, the "Library of Divine Revelation."

Who adopted the name Bible?

The name Bible was adopted by Wickliffe, and came gradually into use in English language.

Also, bible is a book that is considered authoritative in its field e.g. the bible of French cooking.

It follows that the name "Bible" is a man-made and it is not inspired and it is not mentioned in the entire Bible. On the other hand, the name "Quran" is inspired and is mentioned 69 times in the Quran.


The Last verse in chapter (22) of the Old Testament is talking about the names of the concubine of Nahor (Abraham's brother)
The Last verse in chapter (22) of the New Testament is talking about a day after which no one can ask the Lord Jesus.
The Last verse in chapter (22) of the Noble Quran is talking about Allah has not laden a burden upon Muslims in their religion (Islam). It was Abraham who put the name "Muslims" and Muslims follow Abraham's Religion. The role of Muslims is to be witnesses against mankind by giving man the correct idea about Islam. Muslims have to pray, giving charity and fast; hence Allah is their Guardian.

AL-HAJJ 22: 78

78) " And strive for Allah with the endeavour which is his right. He has chosen you and has not laden a burden upon you in your religion, being the creed of Abraham your father. He has named you Muslims before and in this so that the messenger (Muhammad) can be a witness for you, and in order that you be witnesses against mankind. Therefore, establish the prayer and pay the obligatory charity and hold fast to Allah. He is your guardian, the excellent guardian, the excellent helper!"
