[T326]The Best Upright Vacuum
by Dave Roth, Dav
Choosing a vacuum does not seem that important to some people, but it actually is. Some vacuums can be quite expensive. Even if you buy a less expensive brand, though, you still want to get the most for your money. One of the best ways to do this is through doing your research first. Do not just rush out the door, go to your local chain retailer, and buy the first inexpensive upright vacuum that you see. Instead, figure out what you really want and need from an upright vacuum. Then take the time to see which model and brand meets the most of your needs. That is the one that you should purchase. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not do this and then they are stuck with a vacuum cleaner that they do not particularly like very much. If they would have taken the time to figure out some basic needs and looked at information on models and brands they could have avoided that problem and gotten the right thing the first time.

When you do this, the first thing that you want to do is to take a good look around your house. What all do you want the new upright vacuum to clean? Is it just the wall to wall carpet on the floor, or do you have upholstery, area rugs, or draperies that also need to be cleaned? If you need other items cleaned besides the wall to wall carpet, or if you have hard floors instead, you might want to consider a canister vacuum, as it will meet your needs much better for other items. For wall to wall carpet, though, an upright vacuum is the way to go. This is due to the fact that the suction power it has to offer is strong enough to pull the large majority of dirt and hair and debris from the carpet fibers. A canister vacuum has lower suction power which makes it ideal for things like hard floors, draperies, and upholstery, but not a good choice for heavy carpeting. Once you know that you need an upright vacuum and not another type of cleaning machine, you have to decide which model and brand to buy.

There are a lot of different options available, and they range from about fifty dollars at your local chain store to thousands of dollars for some of the top of the line brands that have to be bought through the company ? usually with a home demonstration. Some people do buy vacuums that are very expensive, but most people stick with the less expensive brands that they can get at their local chain retailer. There are still choices, though. You should consider how much the vacuum gets used, whether there are children or pets in the house, and how large of an area you will be vacuuming. Also important is whether you have a multi-story home and whether you have any disabilities or other problems that will stop you from using a heavier vacuum. Many companies make lighter models that can more easily be carried up stairs or used by people who are elderly, ill, or infirm. Taking the time to think about your upright vacuum purchase can help you to be much happier in the long run.

Upright Vacuums: Each and every one of us wants to have clean homes. It's important that we have to be sure that we are well equipped to make sure our home is as clean as possible. So why do we have to waste our rather intricately designed houses and have them subjected to the horrors of the overpopulation of dust bunnies. There is nothing to fear, especially with the upright vacuum. Then again, buying a vacuum is not something that you should do at the spur of the moment unless you have bucket loads of cash to use. That's why we have to explore the many factors that have to be considered in this important decision. With the right decision, you can have a squeaky-clean and meaningful life in no time, and your hard earned money will be saved!

What You Should Consider

• Health. Now we shouldn't miss the part that concerns those with allergies and asthmas. If the carpet remains ensnared by tiny particles that normal vacuums can't capture, then cleaning will remain fruitless. But with upright vacuums equipped with filters that range from HEPA filters to micron filters, people with allergies do not have anything to fear anymore. Then again, it should be noted that HEPA filters are quite expensive, so think well before actually buying an upright vacuum.

• Bag or Bagless. Should one go with bag or bagless upright vacuums? It might have been a bit of an issue when bagless upright vacuums were relatively new. But as time went on, bagless vacuum became more practical on several aspects as it got rid of the part of cleaning where you have to buy new bags to replace dust-ridden ones.

• Amps. Amperage is one important thing that we need to consider in upright vacuums. Amp readings for vacuum cleaners usually range from 3.6 to 12 amps. Another important thing to note is that the higher the amp reading becomes, the stronger the vacuum can suck in dirt, grime, and pet hair. But one should not blindly buy upright vacuums with high amperage that they can suck every bit of particles in carpets and floors because as we go up the amperage ladder, prices become higher as well.

• Cord length. You can get better maneuverability with a longer the cord. Cleaning would then become not much of a hassle. You do not have to carry a vacuum wherever you need to clean your house.

• Edge cleaning. One of the most important features you need to look at in an upright vacuum is the ability to perform edge cleaning. Of course, better edge-cleaning mechanisms would mean better and superior cleaning capacity for your vacuum cleaner. And this means more floor area cleaned.

These are some of the factors you need to put into consideration. The best upright vacuums do not necessarily have to be the most expensive vacuum cleaner. You just need to choose one that best suits your needs and budget.
