You can try to find a good deal on this particular type of mattress set or you can look for each piece individually and try to find good prices on those individual pieces. Online you can always find tons of sales so your best bet may be to try and purchase each piece individually. But if you want to buy them all at once because you looked at the prices for each individual piece and they were equal or greater to the price of the set then you should know what to look for in a quality foam mattress set.

The mattress and the set should be at least 3 inches thick. The pillows included with the set should also be at least 3 inches thick. Memory foam that's thinner than that may not provide the support that your body needs and therefore would nullify the benefits of the memory foam. Make sure that the support foam which rests underneath the memory foam is at least 4 to 5 inches thick. The support foam is very important as it provides the foundation for which the memory foam rests on. If it is not thick enough it will not be able to provide the stability to allow for the memory foam to be optimally effective. The support foam comes in many different thicknesses (you can find them as thick as 9 inches). Usually the thicker the better with the general rule of thumb is to find one that is at minimum, 5 inches thick.

Memory foam comes in many different forms these days. One of the newer forms is a foam mattress that is infused with aloe Vera. An aloe infused memory foam mattress is a step above your basic mattress with memory foam. It's extraordinarily soft and is very beneficial to your skin. They now make this aloe infused mattress and a set. It does run a little bit more expensive than your normal set so if you are a tight budget this may be out of your range. But if you have a little extra money to spend consider spending a little more for this set (it's worth the extra money).

Also, make sure that the support foam and the mattress is constructed of M grade foam. M-Grade is a grade that was specifically constructed for bedding purposes. If the mattress that you're looking at does not feature support foam that is M-Grade foam seriously consider another model or a different type.

The pillows that come with the set should come with removable, machine washable covers that are hypo-allergenic. Memory foam itself is hypo-allergenic so the pillow cover should be also.

Before you purchase any set (or any memory foam product at all) make sure that is constructed in the United States or Canada. Memory foam created outside of the United States is often of very poor quality and can even feature toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde or PBDE. There is an exception and that is some factories in Sweden produce excellent quality memory foam.
