as I drove home one day from a tiring day at the office, I saw what looked like an expensive painting I had seen a picture of one time, sticking out of a skip. it couldn't be?> could it? It was! A 1920's rare gem. my neighbour had contacted a skip hire company, and was having a big clearout before he sold his house and moved to spain. He was more than happy to let me have the skip, after all it meant more room in his skip and he wouldn't have to get another skip hire! Apparently it was a family treasure and he didn't even know the true value of it! Naturally he is getting a share of the funds now we have decided to sell it and let someone else really enjoy the masterpiece. It is quite funny actually, I have never really been interested in painting or any form of Art for that matter and here I was with an expensive piece in my possession. Things like discovering a valuable painting never happen to me, I have a normal office job and live in a semi-detached with my wife and 2 kids. I was estatic, as would anyone|! It was a considerable amount of money we got from it, and me and the missus have decided to take a long awaited vacation, we will definalty keep an eye out for any valuble art we may see along the way too! from hiring a skip from a skip hire company to de-clutter you house, can have wonderous effects. I still cant belive it some days, little old me found something so valuable. I may even get a list of people who have hired skips from skip hire companies and see if i can find anything else! one mans rubbish is anothers treasure eh?> before we sold it, as silly and sad as it may sound, we hired a proffesional photographer, and had a photo taken. Me the painting, my neighbour and the skip hire skip! I wanted to remember this day forever. It had changed out lives.
