[M682]Most Energy Efficient Heaters
by Tim Carr, Tim
Each room in our home has different requirements as far as heat is concerned. We may wish one room to be heated constantly because that is where we spend most of our time. On the other hand we may want our bedroom heated for only a short time just to take the chill out of the air last thing at night before we go to bed or as we are getting up in the morning.

Perhaps we use a particular room only occasionally but when we do we want instant heat. In the office for example, we only need heat during the day and wouldn't want to heat it all night whilst no one is there.

Panel heaters can therefore be the most cost effective solution when we need to have heat on an as and when required basis rather than all the time.

Main advantages of panel heaters

- The main advantage of a panel heater is that it doesn't store heat making it an economical choice, particularly in rooms that don't need to be heated all the time such as in the bedroom, bathroom or conservatory. When you want heat you just switch your panel heater on.

- Panel heaters sit silently in the background so because there are no noisy fans that could contribute to background noise and stress you can sit back and relax and enjoy the warmth in comfort.

- They are easy to clean and maintain and because they are on the slim side they take up relatively little space so are perfect for smaller rooms.

- Panel heaters come in a range of sizes and are versatile and easy to install so it is possible to find one to suit any type of room, whether at home or in the workplace. You can have them mounted on the wall or you can opt for one that is freestanding.

- People suffering from allergies, asthma, bronchitis or other respiratory conditions are less likely to be affected by panel heaters as they don't blow out dust particles.

- Finally, panel heaters are very safe and are less of a hazard for children and the elderly or infirm.

Points to consider when choosing a panel heater

You would need to consider the size of the room that requires heating as this will influence the size of heater that would be most effective for you. For example, there would be no point in purchasing a smaller one when it is required to heat a large room.

You would also have to take into account whether you want a wall mounted heater or one that is free standing. If you wish to move the heater from room to room or to another space within a room then a free standing one would be ideal.

Regardless of what type you choose, panel heaters are convenient and effective and can be a useful form of heating in any home or office.

Save Money
Pond heaters can be expensive to run. Depending on the type of heater you own, the size of your pond and the length of time you have to run it on a yearly basis, your pond can end up costing a small fortune on top of your regular energy bill. Particularly with energy prices set to continue to rise over the next few years, it makes sense to make the switch now and to opt for energy efficient heating units which require less energy to produce the same effect and consequently allow the pond owner to save money on a recurring basis.

Save The Planet
After a couple of centuries of pollution and exploitation, we've finally started to twig that our environment is suffering. One of the ways in which you can make a real difference is by buying and installing an energy efficient pond heater in place of your current model. Not only will it save you money in terms of the energy cost savings that will naturally occur through using less power, but you'll also help out the overall conservation effort by using less energy, which has the knock on effect of meaning more efficient production at power stations, which are a major source of pollution and consequently global warming.

Backup Source of Heat
Heating your pond isn't usually optional - if you've got fish, chances are they'll need some heat to survive throughout the year. Most pond owners make the critical mistake of buying just one pond heater in the hope that that will be sufficient to tide them over. Rarely do they consider the need for heat in the event that their pond heater breaks down, or in some emergency circumstance. For that reason, it can often be a wise decision to opt for a backup heater - a job energy efficient pond heaters tend to do quite well. Think about it - you wouldn't risk your family with just one smoke alarm, would you?

Low Maintenance
Modern, energy efficient pond heaters tend to be of a new generation of design. As well as encompassing beneficial optimum energy features, they also tend to require less in the way of maintenance, and seldom break down off their own accord, as compared to more traditional units which seem to fail far more regularly as a result of inherent design flaws, or simply age in some cases.

As if you need any more convincing, energy efficient pond heaters tend also, now, to verge on the cheaper side of the table, with other bulkier units actually more pricey. If you're considering buying a pond heater any time soon, make sure you weigh up your options regarding energy efficient models and the benefits they can bring to your pond and the environment, as well as the cost savings they can bring.
