[M709]Motion Sensor Light Home
by Vicki Duong, Vic
Adding light to any room instantly heightens the look, style and ambiance. Who wouldn't love a bit of light to their home, since lighting is one of the more affordable ways to redecorate? With lighting options such as table lamps and floor lamps never going out of style, it's a lot easier to choose which type of lighting will go with your home while complementing your personal style.

Table lamps, for instance, come in a variety of designs, sizes, and shapes, but regardless they all perform the same function. Ideally used as reading lights, table lamps can also be easily used as accent lights for any room or hallway in your home. Now, this all depends upon the style and size of your table lamp. If per chance your lamp features a traditional style, complete with an accordion lamp shade and pull chain, it may be best to utilize it as a reading lamp in your living room, den or bedroom. Accent lamps usually have a much more unique feel to them and have a contemporary design. These are best used as corner pieces along the walls of your living room or foyer. Contemporary styled lamps usually sit well on console tables, end table pieces and coffee tables, which will add a hint of loud style to any demure room in a tasteful yet fun manner.

Floor lamps also act as terrific accent lights while offering an illuminating glow to any room. Usually placed in corners, there are a few types of floor lamps that you could get away with placing right next to your sofa or love seat. For instance, if your floor lamp happens to be adjustable and is used mainly as a reading lamp, then it's perfectly alright to have it placed by your reading couch. Otherwise, it's best to keep floor lamps in the corner. Torchiere lamps are the prime example of floor lamps that should always be kept in the corner. The only tricky thing about torchieres is that you have to make sure nothing will fall into the shade. Since they're upward facing lamps, spiders, bugs and even curtains can fall in, which may bulb burnouts or worse yet, fires.

Essential to homes everywhere, lamps are the quintessential to interior design. And with the right lamp, you'll be looking at your home in an entirely different light!

Buying the right lamp for your home can instantly change the way a room looks and feels. If you want to update the look of your home without spending a lot of money a lamp is a great way to achieve a new style. Depending on what type of lamp you buy and what room you put it into you can add to the styling and d'cor. No longer do lamps only serve the purpose of providing lighting for a room. Lamps are a new decorating tool.

A halogen lamp is a fine product; it not only provides matchless lighting for work areas, but also looks valuable. A halogen lamp is great as it uses tungsten as its light source, which is a gas tool that uses a quartz bulb. Earlier halogen lamps were boring and ordinary, but now they are stylish.

You'll need to use lamps for their lighting purpose but this doesn't mean that you can't have fun buying them and adding them to your home. Gone are the days when you buy a couple of lamps at the store and put them on matching side tables. Here are some ideas of how you can perk up a room with your choice of a lamp.

If you have a collection of shells or rocks that you'd like to display, but have never quite figured out how to show them off without having them collect dust on the shelf, you may want to consider buying a lamp from a craft store that has a clear base in which you can place your shells. This is a great way to create a unique and one of a kind lamp that reflects your own personality.

New lampshades for old! (And a wish-fulfilling genie as well if you're lucky) Just simply changing your lampshades can revitalize the energy in your room. They are available in all shapes, sizes and colors, so go for one that fits in with your d'cor, or better still make it yourself.

Retro lamps from the sixties and seventies are making a big comeback. Sometimes all they need is a bit of sprucing up to make them look like new again. Some of the colors from those decades are also becoming popular again, such as the dark oranges and the rust colors.

You don't have to spend a fortune to buy a new lamp for your home. All you need is a little imagination and some time to create some fun and exciting lamps and lampshades.
