Once you have selected them as your moving company and the move date arrives, they will slap you with a bill that is worth twice, thrice or even four times the rate that they initially quoted.
If you refuse to pay, the company representatives will walk out with your things, saying that you cannot claim them unless you pay the bill. This is probably one of the worst moving scams that you should definitely watch out for.
One quick tip to avoid falling for any of these scams is to look for a legitimate company by asking for referral from friends and family members. Make sure that the moving company is registered with the Better Business Bureau and that they are aptly licensed. Awareness is the key so that you will not be scammed out of your hard earned money when you are in the process of moving.
