The first convocation celebration for the out going batch of students pursuing the Edith Cowan University (ECU), at Bangalore Management Academy's (BMA) campus in Bangalore was held on November 26, 2008. The awards were given to students by Prof Kerry O Kox, Vice Chancellor, ECU.
When asked about the uniqueness of this course compared to others, Robert Donison, MD, explained that ?students obtain a full fledged ECU MBA degree in Bangalore in 16 month.? And this is the same as the one awarded in Australia through its unique credit rating of the programmes conducted at BMA. By doing so, students save more than 75 percent of the money as compared to pursuing the same course in Australia,? he said.
Prof Jayashankaran, Dean/Director, BMA, compared the similarities of BMA to the knowledge village in Dubai for its excellent infrastructure (fully A/C campus with wi-fi facility and 100 percent power back up, digital library, gymnasium and food court being built) and various international partnerships under one roof.

ECU MBA with specializations Marketing, Finance, International Business, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Systems and HRM are conducted at BMA. The courses commence three times a year ? March, July and October making it attractive for the job market since the job requirements are round the clock in the corporate world.
BMA is the only college in India where students can pursue the post Graduate Programme in Retail Management from Retailers Association of India while pursuing the MBA ? Marketing programme, which enables them to obtain two qualifications at the end of the course.

The MBA (IS) course, prepares those interested in the IT industry to acquire management skills while simultaneously updating their IT knowledge.

As part of the MBA programme, all students complete an International Business Plan module in which students have to present a full-fledged business plan of a new business in the presence of potential investors? venture capitalists, so sowing the seeds of entrepreneurship at a very early stage in their lives.
