[M326]Mattress Good For Back
by Jay Ashley, Jay

Then a new mattress is in order.

Statistics show that 3 out of 5 adults in the US experience some sort of sleep disturbance. 1 out of three experience back pain. With this kind of combination, treatment is essential and part of it is choosing an ideal mattress to sleep on.

Whether you're using a wooden frame or just laying it on the floor, having a comfortable mattress is top priority. The comfort and support the mattress gives is equivalent to the quality of sleep we get.

To choose the best mattress for you, you need to know that:

1. A firmness test is necessary.

Different people have varying tastes. What's comfortably firm to one might not be for another. Therefore, the best way to see is to test it yourself. When buying your mattress, don't be shy. Lie on it, roll around and see if you can get plenty comfy.

Get your companion or the sales person to try and insert their hand under your back. If the hand can't get through, the mattress may be too hard for you. If it passes too easily, then it's too soft.

2.Look for a strong support

Don't focus too much on what you're salesperson is saying. Just because he tells you that the mattress is supported with whats-its-name technology doesn't necessarily mean that it's perfect for you. That sales person doesn't know about your chronic case of back pain or that you've undergone surgery due to a slipped disk.

Upon trying the mattress, see if it fits with the contours of your body. If you have back pain, does the mattress give you support at that part? Does it sag too much at your head and pelvic area?

3.Check out that width

When you're buying a mattress, it's understood that you need to consider the person you're sharing it with, if there's any. A double bed might be enough for two skinny 10 year old girls but you also need to think about their sleeping habits. Do they toss and turn too much? Do they have a tendency to roll off the bed? Then you might want to buy a wider one, like a queen sized bed.

4.Pick one of high-quality

In terms of beds and mattresses, you need not be a Scrooge and buy the cheapest unit available. Remember that this is concerned with sleeping and sleep is a vital function of the body. Without comfortable sleep, the body cannot rest and therefore the quality of life is diminished.

5.Don't even think about buying second-hand beds!

Ugh. You might be buying it for a cheaper price, yes, but please think about the possible consequences. Aside from obtaining a lower quality bed, you might even get unwanted features like diseases, mites and lice. Cleaning does not guarantee full eradication of these elements. Do you really want to risk your health for a few dollars saved?

Again, we need to bear in mind that buying a mattress is just like buying a house. You need to think in terms of comfort, support, safety and long term use. A comfortable, high quality mattress may cost you a pretty penny but it will save you a good deal of grief later.

According to research, the average Women spends 27 years of their lifetime asleep in bed. 8 hours per night sounds slightly luxurious. But according to research, that's how long most women spend in bed. For the average men, this figure is closer to 25 and a half years. Women may not believe that the opposite sex spends less time in bed, but in reality this is the case.

So, if so much of our time is spent in bed, asleep on a mattress, why do we spend so little time selecting a suitable mattress to sleep on? Have you ever looked to find a mattress that is the most comfortable for you or do you tend to go for one of the more popular
mattresss from a large show room? Your mattress is crucial to providing you with a good nights sleep, rest and recover properly and providing the foundations of a healthy lifestyle. So here are some tips to getting a good night sleep by choosing the right sort of mattress.

To start with, consider the size of mattress you require. If you sleep with a partner, ensure the mattress can comfortably accommodate both of you and some additional space. The mattress should provide ample sleeping space length wise. Do not buy a mattress that is too short. Hanging your feet out the end of a bed can cause problems with your circulation and blood flow.

Next, work out which mattress will suit you best. By this, we are referring to the firmness of the mattress. Commonly, people who sleep on their side are more comfortable on a softer mattress. Those who sleep on their front or back usually prefer a harder mattress. However, in terms of benefit to the posture, it is best to seek medical advice before purchasing a particular firmness of mattress. A doctor or nurse will be able to advise you on the exact sort of mattress you need if you are suffering from back or neck pains during sleep.

Initially, you should also determine how well you are sleeping. If you get to sleep well and are comfortable throughout the night, then there may be no need to change your mattress. However, it's more than likely your old mattress is just suffering from wear and tear. So, if you are sleeping comfortably, but still
need a new mattress, then look to replicate your mattress as closely as possible. From everything including the firmness and texture of the mattress to the size of the mattress that you are used to.
