[O266]Online Turkey Hunting Game
by Abhishek Agarwal, Abh
When a hunter is looking to bring home a gobbler for holiday dinner, or to mount a prize for all to see, special attention must be paid to the manner in which the bird is shot. Oftentimes arrows and normal shells can damage a bird too much for mounting or eating. When a hunter needs an edge to bag his bird, using a Nitro shell can be just the right way to go.

Nitro shells are special in that they are designed with only the turkey hunter in mind. While they can be used for other species, they are especially helpful to the turkey hunter because they have enough power to take down the bird, yet still not damage the hide or meat. The shells come with a guarantee that they pattern as well as other plated, buffered loads without the high cost. Nitro shells produce a payload of 1210 fps that have good knock-down power at normal turkey hunting range. The shot is also made by Remington, a name that many hunters trust.

Nitro hunting shells also help the hunter while searching for his gobbler in other ways:

1. Size. Shots that are ideal for larger game don't work well when hunting turkey. These types of shells often damage the meat and ruin the value for eating or mounting. This is what makes Nitro shells the best option; they have the strength to kill the bird, without the damage associated with other shells.

2. Tactics. While Nitro shells don't help a hunter directly in this area, it's a comfort to know that the shell you're using is designed specifically with the turkey hunter in mind. Turkeys are a challenge to hunt due to their heightened senses; a hunter needs every bit of edge he can get.

3. Safety. Safety is paramount when hunting turkey, as in any other species. Over-zealous hunters often see a splash of blue, red, or white and mistake it for a gobbler's head and shoot too soon. Every effort must be made to ensure a good, clean hunt.

While a turkey hunt is challenging in general, it's good to know that there is equipment available with just the turkey hunter in mind. Because the gobblers are so clever and crafty, any edge a hunter can get on the bird is a good one. When looking to mount your trophy, or feast on your bird for dinner, using Nitro shells really ensure that the hunter has a successful kill.

While turkey hunting alone is considered to be both great fun and a great challenge, add to the mix location, particularly Florida, and the hunt escalates to a new and exciting experience. But hunting turkey in Florida also requires specific attention unique to the state. The hunter in Florida can face a plethora of new obstacles, so it's important to do the research and know what to expect.

1. Know your Terrain. Turkey hunting in Florida can be different than anywhere else in the country. The terrain will mostly consist of wetlands or swamp, unlike wooded grasslands as is normally the case. A hunter should do some extra work to ensure his comfort; be sure to have waterproof footwear. Boots that will protect your feet from moisture while still providing the best in traction will be the best choice.

2. Know the Species. Do your research and know the species native to Florida. The state has a few different animals that could be both exciting, and dangerous to run into in the woods. Florida is home to a very large wild boar population, and while these animals don't harm people, they can be a shock to the unsuspecting hunter. The other species that is less common is the alligator in wetland areas. While this need not be a major concern for the hunter, if a hunter crosses one's path the situation can get dangerous.

3. Know the Pests. Mosquitoes are Florida's number one pesky insect. A hunter will be battling these tiny irritants whether he chooses to hunt in the fall or the spring turkey season. Most hunters try to avoid strong scents when hunting, so many forgo the use of spray repellents and opt for special camouflaged devices that emit a pulse that keeps the mosquitoes away.

4. Know the Pallet. Camouflage isn't the same in Florida as it is in most other states. Depending on the weather and rain, the state can stay green well into October or November. The best option for the hunter is to find his hunting location first, then buy the clothing to suit the colors of the area.

Keeping all these points in mind a hunter can enjoy a turkey hunting trip in the state of Florida for many seasons to come; and as is the case anywhere, be sure to know the local hunting laws and regulations before you set out on your trip.
