There are advantages of joining with a Heavy Hitter, that means the guy or gal in your opportunity who everyone already knows. You are magically attracted to him, you will be thrilled after joining - and for a moment you will feel his almighty charisma and personal power may rub off on you. After all, that's how he became a heavy hitter, people gravitate towards him.
It's an interesting question, isn't it?
There are advantages of joining with a Heavy Hitter, that means the guy or gal in your opportunity who everyone already knows. You are magically attracted to him, you will be thrilled after joining - and for a moment you will feel his almighty charisma and personal power may rub off on you. After all, that's how he became a heavy hitter, people gravitate towards him. Without a doubt, you could learn a lot from him: just studying how he looks into the camera, how he speaks, how he tries to close you on the telephone. He's a star. Everyone wants to be around them. We are groupies, all of us. And he's the master-communicator.
Joining with a Heavy Hitter can make you feel like you already made it. You join, you feel elated. Will it last?
On the negative side, the Heavy Hitter is busy. The Heavy Hitter only has time - and he will often admit to that when the microphones are off - to individually deal with the individuals that excel. No hand-holding, no T.L.C. (tender loving care) for the average guy or grandma wanting to be successful. Also, one little problem. Yes, you may learn from him by eyeballing him, but once you turn around, it's just plain old you. What about YOUR communication skills? Closing skills? Do you see the problem?
A heavy hitter also couldn't answer all your questions. He couldn't if he wanted to. The Heavy Hitter is not the grim reaper. I am really not trying to bash successful people here. I am talking about a certain type that I call "charismatic leader" (as opposed to "true leader"). They attract us, but they can't necessarily lead. Not because they're evil. But because teaching and leading is not their thing. Being charismatic is their thing. They attract. They shine. They are highly competent, but they are highly sought after as well. Will you reserve your spot on the phone with him?
So what about the alternative? The problem is this. In this online-environment, there are thousands of people that are incompetent, and that nonetheless call themselves Success Coach. But there ARE people, that are leaders in the true sense of the meaning. You see, you don't need to be charismatic in order to teach well, right? As a matter of fact, one of the best teachers I know in the industry is Mike Klingler (Renegade University), he's also amazingly boring. But he gets the job done and he's super successful. And super nice.
Actually, the choice is not easy. I am just giving you food for thought here.
My suggestion is this: You stop worrying about it and start developing yourself. Make sure, if you are a complete newbie, that you will get the support you need. You know, just the basics. Will someone show you how to build a website? Explain to you what an auto-responder is and how to put an opt-in box on your website? Will you get access to training-websites? Is there automated training? Ask for the goodies.
The secret is this: You want the goodies, not - at least not only - the guy/gal. It's the training that matters. Because you are always you and nothing will ever change that. And you will build a brand for yourself. Soon.
The goodies to look out for: What marketing-strategies does he use, and what are those achieving that are driven to succeed as they are implementing them? (the same techniques may make one man millions, and the next man nothing. Who really wants to succeed? Who's just dabbling?). How does he teach them? In what format?
In a nutshell: become a student of self-development. Study Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy and so on. Make sure people will gravitate towards you. Become a student of marketing, because that's what you do. Then later, you can brag about your results - and all your problems are solved.
