Actually, there's no such thing as Online Marketing Magic, but that doesn't stop people from selling it and other people from buying it. Most people starting out in Internet Marketing buy some of those products, I sure did. You read forum posts or articles from someone claiming to have secret SEO knowledge to put your site on the map, PLR articles, or an automatic article scraper, and poster, and you buy, and you buy, and buy. Then there's eBooks that hold all the secrets to wealth building, and you buy and buy and buy. But nothing ever happens. You start to wonder what you're doing wrong.
The only magic about online marketing is that your profit potential is not directly proportional to your amount of work. Some people work really hard and put in tons of hours and profit very little if at all, while others work only a few hours a day and reap millions. The old motto about working smart not hard is alive and well in Internet Marketing.
If you're new to Online or Internet Marketing, you'd be smart to be conservative on spending. For example, learn enough about HTML and CSS to make simple web pages for your own use. That's really all you'll need for a long time.
Find a mentor, someone who is successful in a way that you want to be successful. Learn from what they've done. Be willing to relearn things you think you already know. This is good advice for many areas of life, not just Online Marketing! If you try to make a quick buck by cheating your customers, they'll know and they won't be back.
Most importantly, only create products or services that are based on honesty, quality, and usefulness. Create something that has true value and you'll have repeat customers and loyal visitors who come back again and again.
