Home based businesses are rarely successes immediately. It takes time, money and dedication to get your business up and running. There are several ways to help enhance your customer clientele and help your company grow. Word of mouth is a great way to expand your customer base. Your friends and family may know many potential customers that are in need of your products or services and don't know it. Placing ads on bulletin boards at businesses or organizations that are closely associated with the type of business that you run, may help to bring in clients. By having your ads in places that it will be noticed, will help potential customers to remember your company, when they are looking for your product or service.
Placing fliers on doors can also draw in new customers. One of the least expensive ways to advertise your home based business is to order door magnets for your car. As you drive around town, potential clients will see that you offer a type of product or service that they made need now or in the future, with a phone number to contact you by. Place ads in the local newspaper and phone books. Often if your ad is larger than others on the page, a customer's eyes will be drawn to it immediately. Do not make the ads too elaborate, and be sure to include all of the necessary information that a customer would need when considering your company.
Bright colors may help to draw attention to your ads, also. Advertising online can also be a great way to increase business for your home based business. Adding your site to the list on a search engine or two can help to bring in traffic to your web site. Having the option to order and pay for the products from your company online, can speed along the process of buying, which is always a hit with clients.
A great way to increase your clientele is to make yourself available when your potential clients attempt to contact you. If you set aside business hours to be from 8am to 5 pm, and you receive a call at 7 pm regarding your company, do not ask the person if you can call them back tomorrow, go ahead and answer any questions that they have. It will show them that you are interested in obtaining their business, if you take the time to speak with them when they contact you. This is also true if you meet them in person, whether in the grocery store or in a restaurant, if they show an interest in your company, make them feel that you are interested in helping them as quickly as possible with their problems. Increasing your clients will help to increase word of mouth regarding your company, which will immediately increase your sales.
Has your bank ever changed names? Did anyone at the bank lose their job? Do you know of someone who devoted their life to a job to suddenly be out of work for what ever reason? No back up, no prospects of anything new? Maybe the kids are in high school, college or no kids at all. At any rate, it's a scary situation. The mortgage or rent is due, there is no food in the fridge, shoot the electricity may be shut off soon. Is your job secure? Are they paying you enough? Do you need to get another part-time job to make ends meet? Are you going to have enough income when it's time for you to retire? Are you going to be able to retire or are you going to have to work into your seventies or eighties? Is your future secure? Do you have a nest egg?
Sure you could cut back, limit your liability, quit going out, buy the cheaper cuts of meat, eat more rice and beans, (not a bad health idea), get a second job, buy a used car omitting car payments and costly auto insurance. There are a ton of things you can do to reduce your monthly expenses. Even with all those cuts are you going to be able to put enough money away to have a comfortable retirement? Are they fun? Not really. After working 40 - 50 years to have to retire on next to nothing is more than heartbreaking. Most people want life abundantly. They want it all. Why do people play the lottery? They want it all, now. The lottery is nothing more than wishful thinking for most. Sure a few win, will you?
You've heard the saying, "Pay yourself first.". How can you do that when you don't even have enough to pay the rest each month? OK. You are doing well if you are able to put money away each month. Bravo. You are one of the few. However, will it be enough to live on at retirement? I don't know. Say all goes well in the markets you've invested in, will it be enough? Are you going to be OK if your investments turn negative? What then?
I'm sure you are well aware of the fact that most corporations diversify. Even K-Mart bought Sears and remain operating under the two names. They have more than one or two investments. That seems to be the best bet these days. Don't go quitting your job. It pays some bills, buys some food. Better yet, try an internet business to supplement your income. Become good at it. Reinvest your internet profits back into your own business. Then, when you are comfortable with it and your income from this new internet business is exceeding your regular paycheck, then you may wish to leave your regular job. But don't go quitting your job until you can replace your current income.
I personally started a business when I became unemployed myself. I used credit cards to fund it. Not everyone is comfortable doing that, however. It didn't take long, about a month, before it started developing a nice income. I reinvested my profits back into my own business and before long, I became self-sufficient. You can too, with the right coaching and system. You must first take that initial step and look in to it. There are many internet businesses to get involved in. Find an internet business you feel good about. One that fits you.
