Begin by using a moisturizing product. When applying makeup, use a facial moisturizer first. Do not skimp on moisturizing your face, and use a quality product. Apart from acting a base for the makeup it makes your skin healthy and safeguard it from wrinkles. Wait a minimum of 10 minutes after you apply your moisturizer.

Use the appropriate concealers or enhancers. After applying moisturizer, touch up any blemishes or dark spots with an enhancer or a concealer. A small amount should be dabbed on your fingertip and gently spread across the area in circles. You must perform this before applying mineral foundation, so it can be covered by the next layer of makeup.

Now, apply foundation to your skin. Putting on the mineral foundation is the next step in the mineral makeup process. This can be bought in powdered form or creamy form. A very small amount should be used (so it looks natural) put the foundation on using a circular action. A sponge for this step is good or you may wish to use a brush. Simply start by lightly dusting your cheeks and begin to blend the foundation towards the sides of your face. It is important to make sure blend in the lines where your foundation stops. The foundation will be more layered the more you brush on your face. This helps mineral powder to stick in to moisturizer. To finish, apply your mineral makeup foundation with a setting powder so your makeup will last all day.

Apply makeup to your eyes. There is a unique eye makeup called mineral eye makeup. The way this makeup is applied is similar to the regular eye makeup. Start brushing eye shadow at the corner of your lid, working out towards the side of your face. Lighter eyeshadow shades should be applied to the base of your eyelid, and dark shadows should continue up toward your eyebrow line. Apply only three shades of eye shadow to get a nice look. Again, the stronger the color will be and the longer the makeup will stay in place by the more you buff or brush the mineral makeup.

Last of all, add eyeliner and mascara. Line your bottom lid with a thin line of eyeliner that begins at the center of your lid and works outward and the line your top eyelid with a thin line of eyeliner that goes from corner of your eye outward. The brush should be dragged from the root of your eyelash outward when applying mascara, moving wand from side to side so full coverage is ensured.

End with some lipstick. The final step in mineral makeup is to apply some lipstick. To help the lipstick retain its color throughout the day, start with a lip moisturizer and then add a base of mineral foundation. Use the lipliner along the edge of your upper lip and then put lip color on both lips. Blot off any extra lipstick with a kleenex, apply lipstick again as a second coating to strengthen your color. Brush your whole face with powder to allow your mineral makeup to stay in place, and then you will be ready for your day.
