Spin Art is a very old art form it roots go back in time to the European Industrial Revolution when people of France became tired, bored of hand-brush paintings on Canvas when machines were invented and made for many uses. A rush was on to create new machine that put paint on canvas. Some of the crude machines actually held the paint brush while other spins the medium. A UC-Berkeley Art Major doing his thesis research came across some of these machines and re-created the idea of spinning the medium machine. His crude machine was introduced to the public in the late 50’s to the public and it spread from there throughout the US. Becoming a fad and a fad that would disappear and re-appear though out the years until one day, May 1994 when John’s Arts & Crafts brought it to a higher level. Increasing the speed of the machine to< 14,000 RPM and using high quality paints & acrylic board & mat board making this art interactive art award & ribbons winning art form.
