Use Bargains To Keep Estimating Costs Reasonable

Try to get a good buy on the pots, plants, soil, wood, and other landscaping elements you require to build your outdoor areas. Explore more shops and sources for these items. It's possible that while exploring other regions you will be able to get a bargain and benefit from lower prices. And if getting landscaping material on a budget is not challenging enough, prices of materials such as lumber/wood are fluctuating every season.

Planning Ahead Keeps Your Requirements Manageable

Start by drawing your landscaping idea on paper before you begin planting and building various attractions to your yards. When you know what you need and where you want it, it helps you to by pass wasting money.

Get Help To Decide Your Design

Work on the design involved. It maybe cheap to build a square shaped patio, but it won't save you money if you find the final result unappealing and not use it thereof. Better to take advice from a designer and seek his help to create an aesthetic space. When you talk to a pro, you may just consult the expert for an hour or so. This may cost you around $50-$100, but it will be money spent well, and help you avoid mistakes later.

Don't Hesitate To Buy Landscaping Materials in phases

Landscaping is often an expensive affair. Few people can afford to have their property landscaped all at once. Another good way of savings money is to work phase-wise on your landscaping. Therefore, whenever you have funds, you add some elements to your landscaping design.

Cheap Is Not Always The Best Policy

Cheap is not usually good, especially in terms of landscaping. Due to the sheer size and scope of landscaping projects in general, home improvement materials usually can be bought at low prices for common plants and materials, such as clump. Usually, most landscaping materials come in different qualities and different prices. Therefore, when you buy a cheap material, chances are that the quality may vary as well. Besides this, your local landscaping shop maybe able to provide you better and more personalized service, better deals, expert advice, and even guarantees. These will help you immensely if you are new to landscaping and do not have much practical experience. For example - your local specialty nursery may charge you slightly higher for some plants, but offer you money-back guarantees on trees, shrubs, and hedges etc.

Sometimes Cheap Is Good

Sometimes, the defining difference in quality is minimal. The quality of the best and economy items may be slight. So why pay more? You should look for opportunities when a home improvement warehouse offers bargains on their products. Common yearly use products such as perennials, mulch, pavers, and containers can be picked up cheaply. And make it a point to check and carefully inspect the plants before buying them from the warehouse, and they may not be well cared for.

Timing Is Important

Buying landscaping materials on time can be as crucial as buying from a specialty shop. When you buy at the right time, you save yourself much worry and money. For example ? buying lumber for your landscaping your outdoors will be cheaper during winter. Also, when you buy trees, shrubs, soil, mulch, perennials, late in the season, you will be able to save money. Try not to make a dash to pick up the latest species of plants. Wait for the demand to get over and supply to stabilize. By this time, the prices would have climbed down as well.

Good Neighbor Policy

Share your lawn mower, tillers, etc with your neighbor. Great cost cutting exchanges can be mad with good neighbor relationship building and cooperation.

I'm not saying that it was easy money.

No, I wouldn't go that far. If you've picked your way through the world long enough and seen some of the cars bookies drive and the pretty girls all the sites have hired in recent years, you know that there are no locks or guarantees. Most of us are wrong when we see a sure bet. But when I looked at the Ryder Cup rosters a month ago, I saw names on the American roster that just didn't belong. Sure, Zach Johnson, Brett Wetterich, J.J Henry and Vaughn Taylor are wonderful golfers, but I don't exactly want to put my money behind them when a bunch of fiery Euros are on the other side. Yes, Europe, behind the stellar play of Sergio Garcia and the sympathetic character Darren Clarke, gave the U.S. team, and especially Phil Mickelson, a hefty beating. And I benefited. Call me a trader, but I like to trade in currency not flags.

Now that the golf season is just about over, we can return to what truly matters ? football and football. Skunker T. Floyd was swimming in confidence after an amazing weekend. He hung in a luxury box at Candlestick Park and watched his Philadelphia Eagles dismantle the 49ers. Floyd looked back on the weekend with a smile on his face during his weekly press conference. In an amazing act of restraint, Floyd only bet one game last weekend. He fired on his Eagles giving point and the over, which they covered quite easily.

On the other hand, I didn't show similar restraint. I've decided that I might just be a college guy. After losing a small parlay with Louisville covering over Kansas St. and Iowa not covering against Illinois, I went 3-0 on Saturday with my big win being Syracuse (-7), which beat up Miami-Ohio 34-14. I also took the over in the Cal-Arizona St. (58) and got a 49-21 Cal win. Stanford showed once again how bad they are with Washington St. (-9.5) winning big. Sunday wasn't as enjoyable, though. I won with Floyd's Eagles to cover bet, but lost when I only fired on two of Dr. Bob's three picks.

The Good Doctor was correct on the under in the Indy-Jacksonville game, but led us astray with his under bets in the big number Philly-SF and Seattle-New York Giants games. But I look at the long term with Doctor Bob and his record doesn't lie. Perhaps I'll lean on his college bets this week.

Which brings me to this week's picks. I've always been a fan of staying away from big games. I'll watch them because the SEC, as shown on Thursday night with Auburn and South Carolina, is the best college football conference, but I will lean on the SEC in non-conference contests.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN at KENTUCKY (-8)

Before you follow my lead and fire on this game remember that if you are going to bet a team, you have to know the mascot. It's an old rule I learned from the Caddymaster who wasn't named Lou, who's losing at the track.

The Central Michigan Chippewas played Boston College tough in their opener and continue to improve after a loss to Michigan. But the win-loss record of 2-2 doesn't tell this squad's story. The Chippewas are 4-0 against the spread and have covered in 9 of their last 11 games. Kentucky, meanwhile, is coming off a 26-7 loss to Florida, which didn't do much for their mediocre offense. I can see the Chippewas winning, but even if they lose the eight points is a sweet cushion on my sofa.

SAN DIEGO ST. (-2.5) at SAN JOSE ST.

You have to love the WAC. San Jose St. used to be a laugher, but they've already beat Stanford and played a close game with Washington. San Diego State is coming off a lopsided loss to a Utah team that is not a great team. Dr. Bob bet against the Aztecs last week and won. We shouldn't fall in love with a team, but I'm willing to ride this team's inability to go on the road and beat San Jose St., a squad that is 2-1 and still carrying momentum from the Stanford win.
