From what I've seen of spas, even though the idea is giving relaxing treatments, each spa seems to specialize in different treatments that are supposed to be relaxing. I understand that every person has a different idea of what is relaxing too. This is why I think it is really important for spa marketing when you own or work for a spa.

I find that it can be quite difficult to know what types of treatments spas offer unless heard by word of mouth at times. I'd like to know what is offered by simply visiting a website, or watching or hearing a commercial. These things don't have to tell me every treatment, but I would certainly like to hear the highlights of treatments at different spas.

I know that many people, both men and women, would benefit from these practices in spa marketing. After all, how is anybody supposed to choose a spa if nobody knows what types of treatments are available?

Obviously, in spa marketing it is important to give information if it is a medical spa or purely a spa for comfort. If it is a medical spa and there are medical doctors, mentioning any articles and books that are written by the medical doctors on any promotional materials lets clients know of the expertise that is located at the spa.

It is also a good idea to put the credentials of any physicians at the spa on the website and other advertising. If you are using television or radio commercials, do not take up time listing the credentials. Mention that the staff has medical degrees. What you should do is invite potential clients to come ask about the expertise at the spa or to visit a website where the credential of the doctors are listed.

If there is not a website, it may be worth it to hire a professional on search engine optimization that can write articles and advertisement for the website so that it comes up high in search results when potential clients are searching for the spa.

It may also be worth hiring people to submit the spa's website address to the different search engine submission sites. With a website that has plenty of search engine optimization, different search engines need to be able to pick up the site. It is not guaranteed that every search engine will pick up the website, even if the main ones such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Dogpile do.

Of course, if a spa is purely for relaxation, it also needs good spa marketing. The services that are offered at the spa need to be listed. Some people find mud baths to be extremely relaxing. However, other people find the idea to be completely gross. Yet, almost everybody likes massage. Most spas offer massage, and any training by the masseuses should definitely be mentioned.

Do you have a sauna at your spa? Some people love saunas! When it comes to spa marketing, this should also be mentioned in your advertisements.

Don't forget to include the same types of information in any media that is used: direct mail, flyers, television, radio, and website. Just make sure that the information is always formatted correctly for the different media.
