[R227]Replacement Air Purifier Filters
by Jason Uvios, Jas
Getting an air purifier would mean a significant investment. However, if you don't take proper care of the gadget, it wouldn't be working at its optimum level and hence your investment wouldn't be providing you the results you expected.

Maintaining air purifiers isn't that much of a hassle also and would take little time. And for your effort you will be ensured fresh air to breathe in.

The dust around the air purifier should be vacuumed regularly. Special attention should be paid to the exterior grills and panels. Change the filters when the indicator lights indicate you to. If your gadget doesn't come with indicator lights, then follow the instructions that are there on the manual.

We cannot definitively say when exactly would you need to change the filter. Much of it depends on what kind of room the air purifier is. If the room has too much traffic and also a lot of activities then the filters would be saturated earlier than normal. The opposite is also true when the filter has it easy in a less frequented room.

Normally HEPA filters require to be replaced every 12 months and the carbon filters used for absorbing gases need to be changed in 3-6 months. The best option would be to buy an air purifier with the filter replacement indicator lights as it is not only convenient but also scientific. Judging the state of your purifier by the particulates present in air or the odor of the air isn't much of a solution. You might be replacing them too late when they are clogged or you may be replacing them much too soon, hence spending unnecessarily.

Some purifiers come with washable pre-filters. To wash them use warm soapy water. Do not insert them before they are thoroughly dried.

Always keep an extra filter with you so that when required you can change it immediately. Also HEPA filters are relatively expensive. So you wouldn't want to be rushed into buying it. It would help if you budget separately for it.

Also keep you purifier in a place where the is enough clearance on all its sides. Yes, you wouldn't want to spoil the look of your room, but you still need to allot some space for it to function properly.

Air purifier has become mandatory for every household. Since the report of the Environmental Protection Agency has put forward that indoor pollution is more than that of outdoor pollution, it has become a caution note for every responsible individual and family person. No one is ready to play with life sustaining air molecules at any cost.

Already the environmental pollution has become the biggest challenge for the mankind, again if the air inside a well protected house too turns out to be impure what else is left for the human beings to live upon?

In such an adverse situation the air purifiers have really proved to be a boon for everybody.

Safe and convenient

When you really intend to select an air purifier for your home, there are certain things you must keep in mind.

-Primarily try to find out the safety aspect and the quality of effectiveness it can really provide in cleaning up the air.

-Check out the CADR (Clean air Delivery Rate) in a specific square feet area. This will give you the efficiency rate as well. Normally the ratio of CADR to the specified area is 2/3. CADR is considered standard when in a 90 square feet room, the value is 60.

-Now safety has two attributes. First of all what type of air purifier you are going to use and what is the type of air filter fixed in it.

-If it's an ozone air purifier think twice before you invest. The air you inhale will be free from contaminated particles but activated with chemical reactions that will at some point of your lifetime cause damage to the lungs.

-HEPA air filters are authentic and better than any other type. But if the pollution measurement is less you can also go for a conventional carbon air filter. But in this case you will have to alter the filter after every three to four months.

Quality and warranty

After you are convinced with the features, also take a close review of the warranty and guarantee conditions.

-Warranty should be on each and every part of the device along with the overall guarantee.

-The air purifier is most sensitive with the filters. The problems of the device also begin with this section. Thus special warranty and discount should always be given on the air filters.

-Also find out the operation expenses and the maintenance costs.

If the entire picture remains clear and transparent to you, there won't be any hassle when you actually put the device into use. Play safe and intelligent for this safety device.
