[R131]Reduce Lines And Wrinkles
by Valerie Rosenbaum, Val
It's something like a magic trick. By including compounds that refract the light, wrinkles appear less deep and fine lines seem to disappear, but it's only an illusion. There is one ingredient that provides the illusion and actually provides long-lasting improvement in firmness and moisture content, but most of the products on the market don't contain it. The ingredient is called bioactive keratin.

Keratin is the protein that makes up more than 90% of the skin. Bioactive keratin is a form of the protein that you skin's cells can pick up and use. It attracts and holds in moisture. Clinical studies have shown that creams containing it increase the skin's moisture content by over 20%. That's five times more effective than anything else on the market.

If you're like most people, you want fine lines and wrinkles to actually go away, not just appear to. But, you can have the best of both worlds. The consistency of bioactive keratin is something like that of liquid skin. It fills in a line, making it appear less deep, while at the same time working to improve your skin's health and appearance.

In addition to protein, your skin needs antioxidants. Whenever you are exposed to sunlight, smoke or air pollution, the antioxidant level of the skin begins to fall. That is because the level of free radical molecules begins to rise.

Research has shown that older skin cells contain fewer antioxidants and more free radicals. If this imbalance is not corrected, free radicals wreak havoc on the skin's health and appearance. In order to correct the balance, you need a cream that contains the antioxidant coenzyme Q10. A recent study showed that coenzyme Q10 reduces fine lines and wrinkles by nearly 30% after six weeks of use.

You see, some antioxidants, like vitamin E, prevent free radical damage. Others, like coenzyme Q10, actually repair damage that has already been done. The best anti-wrinkle creams on the market contain bioactive keratin, vitamin E and coenzyme Q10. Many products contain one of those, with vitamin E being the most common, but they are of little or no benefit, particularly when it comes to reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

In addition to looking for good ingredients, consumers need to learn to protect themselves from the bad ones. There are some products on the market that will actually do more harm than good. Phrases like ?all natural? and ?hypoallergenic? are not legally defined. The only honest information on a product is the label of ingredients.

Avoid skincare products that contain petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, parabens, oxybenzone, benzophenone, avobenzone, hydroquinone and added fragrances. These are not all of the problematic ingredients, but companies that do not use those ingredients typically provide safe products.

With the information that is available today, we should be able to delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for many years and even reverse damage that has already been done. We just need to use the right moisturizers.

Elastin fibers are the stretchy fibers that are responsible for returning the skin to a tightened state after having been stretched. Elastin is what gives you that youthful appearance. It is sometime called the Youth Protein fiber of skin. This is where the 25 year old skin gets its firm, smooth, resiliency. Elastin fibers are the very important rubber bands of the skin.

The amount of decrease in elastin production as we age depends on a person's genes. Medical research has come to recognize that the cells of our bodies are a composition of millions of signal molecules. Some of these signal molecules are androgens and some are anti-androgens. Androgens circulate naturally in the blood stream of both men and women. When an androgen enters a skin cell, it is converted to Dihydrostestosterone or DHT. DHT binds to the cell's DHT receptor, like a magnet binds to metal. This complex moves to the nucleus of the cell and carries a message to the nucleus of the cell to stop or reduce production of elastin. Anti-androgens, which also have a liking for DHT receptors, stop this union by acting as a blocker. When this blocking action occurs it allows the cells to continue producing elastin. Until somewhere between 25 to 30 years of age depending on our DNA, the ratio of DHT and DHT receptors to anti-androgens is balanced.

After 25 to 30 years of age this balance is disrupted as both DHT and DHT receptors increase and anti-androgens decrease. It is this imbalance, which happens to everyone, that causes our skin to lose its elasticity, and begin to sag.

Ethocyn was designed to mimic, or simulate, the process that naturally occurs in young skin. Ethocyn is a competitive inhibitor-this means it blocks something from taking place. Ethocyn molecules, when applied topically to your skin, block what causes DHT-DHT receptor binding in skin cells allowing elastin production to continue, depending on our genetic disposition- the ratio of DHT and DHT receptors to anti-androgens is balanced. As confirmed by eminent M.D. and skin physiologist Dr. Peter T. Pugliese, ' The single most important cause of age related skin wrinkles and sagging is the loss of skin elastin fibers. Everyone, whether female or male, will begin to lose skin elastin fibers at age 25. Elastin fibers are the restorative force in the skin.'

Research findings confirm that our skin produces/synthesizes less and less elastin fibers as we continue to age. This is recognized as Intrinsic Skin Aging and completely independent of Photo (sun) Damage Skin Aging. Using sunscreens and sun blocks protect skin from Photo Aging, but not Intrinsic Aging.

The reason for sagging skin is a lack of youthful levels of elastin fibers; therefore, wrinkles form. Using skin treatment products containing Ethocyn treats this loss of important elastin fiber by returning the elastin content of the skin to that of youthful, elastic 20 year old skin.

Prestigious, academic dermatologists at independent university medical centers around the world have conducted numerous Ethocyn clinical trials. These clinical trials report that it is important to use Ethocyn to increase the elastin fiber content and quality of your skin if you are over 25-30 years of age. This applies to both men and women between the ages of 25-77 years of age.

Using Ethocyn products twice a day, everyday, assures your skin will have the optimum 20 year old levels of skin elastin fibers. Use Ethocyn skin treatment products to realize smoother, firmer, more resilient skin with an incredible 'snap back' quality.
