Many, many people each year spend a lot of money trying to get rid of embarrassing warts. Kids as young as two years old can get warts, you don’t have to hold a toad or kiss a frog to get a wart. You can have a wart pop up on any body part, your fingers, toes, stomach, buttocks, etc. There are many options available for wart removal, many that can be done in the privacy of your own home.
In many cases, you may be better off to just see your dermatologist for wart removal, depending on the type of wart you have, and how resistant it may be to common wart treatment methods. If you don’t have health insurance, or have not met your deductible, however, it is much more cost effective to treat your warts at home. This is also good for people who are too embarrassed to seek medical treatment.
There are many home remedies that can be effective for wart removal, many of these that can be a lot less expensive than the typical over the counter options. The best place to look for these home remedies is either in your local library, or of course, on the information super-highway, the Internet. The good thing is that many of the home remedies you may find are made from items that you may already have around the home, meaning that you don’t even have to spend any extra money at all.
Not everyone is comfortable using home remedies to cure their medical problems, wart removal included. In this case, then you would naturally turn to over the counter wart removal products, especially if you can’t afford or don’t want to go to the doctor. Some of these products can be quite expensive, but the nice thing is that they can easily be found in your local grocery store, discount store, or pharmacy, as well as all over the internet.
When using an over the counter wart remedy, it is important that you carefully read and follow all of the package directions. It doesn’t take a lot of extra time to read the instructions, and the time you spend could be important to your safety.
Keep in mind, if you try alternative wart removal methods, you may not be successful, and you could potentially cause a dangerous infection to occur, one that would require medical treatment. Whether you are using a home remedy, or over the counter product, it is important to take precautions and err on the side of safety! If you are dealing with warts on a child, you may be better off seeking medical intervention, rather than trying to use a potentially risky treatment method.
When broached with the subject of warts, people would rather not talk about it. It is as an embarrassing problem. Warts are rough skin growths that are usually pinkish in color, and are caused by viruses such as the Human Papilloma Virus. The virus gets in through small cuts and causes a skin infection which can easily spread from one body part to another, and as such, there are many types of warts. Despite this, warts are not uncommon; studies show that 4 out of 10 people will experience having warts during their lifetime.
There are a number of ways to get rid of warts, including over-the-counter medication and surgery. However, natural remedies for wart removal are not hard to find. In fact, they're so accessible that you might have some of these remedies lying around in your home or kitchen.
There are several natural vegetables and fruits that can be used to get rid of a common wart. Garlic is one of the effective natural remedies for wart removal. Rubbing a peeled and sliced clove of garlic on a wart several times daily can help make it disappear in a matter of days. Rubbing a piece of potato in a circular motion for 30 minutes twice daily helps kill the root of the wart, making it dry up, darken, and fall off. Using Banana peels is also an effective wart remedy. Rubbing a banana peel on a wart daily will make it vanish in 1-2 weeks.
Aloe, a natural plant whose sap has been known for it's many dermatological benefits, has been used for over 2000 years as an aid in wart removal. Aloe helps ease discomfort and hastens the healing process.
In addition, some essential oils are also natural remedies for wart removal. Tea Tree Oil of good quality when rubbed on a wart can make it disappear. One drop of good quality lemon essential oil can also treat most warts.
Vitamin E oil (usually found in Vitamin E capsules) can treat warts as well. The oil must be rubbed onto the wart, after which a band-aid must be applied to seal in the oil. This process should be done twice daily, with periods given in between applications to dry out the wart. Filing the wart with an emery board or pumice stone can be used to help hasten treatment.
Lastly, duct tape is the easiest, cheapest and most accessible natural wart removal treatment. Applying a piece of duct tape on the wart and changing it daily helps eradicate the wart in two to three weeks. The duct tape creates a warm environment, which helps soften the wart on the skin, making it easier to peel off or remove.
So you needn't spend a lot of money on wart removal products when you can treat it yourself at home using all-natural items you may have never even thought of. Natural remedies for wart removal such as those mentioned above are cheaper than medication and surgeries. Remember to consult a doctor, though, if the wart still persists after trying these solutions.
