[R180]Remedies For Urinary Tract Infections
by Ricky Hussey, Ric
A urinary tract infection (UTI) is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract. Although urine contains a variety of fluids, salts, and waste products, it usually does not have bacteria in it.[1] When bacteria get into the bladder or kidney and multiply in the urine, they cause a UTI. The most common type of UTI is a bladder infection which is also often called cystitis. Urinary Tract Infection can infect anyone but women are more susceptible to this disease. Children too suffer from this disorder but the headcount is very low in comparison to adults.Urinary tract infections are usually referred to as simple or complicated.    * Simple infections occur in healthy urinary tracts and do not spread to other parts of the body. They usually go away readily with treatment.    * Complicated infections are caused by anatomic abnormalities, spread to other parts of the body, or are resistant to many antibiotics. They are more difficult to cure.Common Causes of Urinary Tract Infections:Most urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria. Any part of your urinary tract can become infected. The urinary tract includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Bladder infections are the most common. The urinary system is structured in a way that helps ward off infection. The ureters and bladder normally prevent urine from backing up toward the kidneys, and the flow of urine from the bladder helps wash bacteria out of the body. In men, the prostate gland produces secretions that slow bacterial growth. In both sexes, immune defenses also prevent infection. But despite these safeguards, infections still occur.Common Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections:The symptoms of a UTI include:    * Cloudy urine    * Blood in the urine    * Foul or strong urine odor    * Frequent or urgent need to urinate    * Need to urinate at night    * Pain or burning with urination    * Pressure in the lower pelvisEffective Herbal Remedies For Urinary Tract Infections:# Drink plenty of water.# Avoid coffee, alcohol, and spicy foods, all of which irritate the bladder.# Drink Cranberry juice. As drinking much water flushes out bacteria and other microorganisms which contaminate the urinary tract. #A mixture of 1/2 tsp baking soda in eight ounce glass of water can be very helpful on the first signs of urinary tract infection. The presence of baking soda in your system raises the acid-base balance of the acidic urine.
