Mindset Is Crucial
by Simon Thurston, Sim

This is something that has been taught to me for many years now, however when I mention it to others, I do seem to get some weird looks, and I really do not know why.

Fear of the unknown? The occult perhaps?

Or just plain and simple "That is not for me, it's for hot shot successful people".

Well, the latter is not that far from the truth, but you have to wonder how the successful became successful. Mindset would be one factor that is for sure.

It's Not A Load Of Mumbo Jumbo

In fact mindset is the basis for everything regarding success, achievement and taking action - whether its in our every day lives or in business. If you have the correct mindset, the rest follows in a logical and effective sequence.

Let me give you an example...

Imagine that you're trying to run a marathon. You believe that you could do it, but you realise that running 26 miles is quiet an achievement. But with that belief instilled in your brain, you begin your training.

Weeks pass, and because you think you can do this, your training progresses. You began by simply running 2 miles at a time, but now you're running 10 miles at a time.

Your belief and enabled you to take action, and by taking action you've achieved good results, as you're now running 5 times the distance that you were a few short weeks ago.

And this in turn gives you more belief and motivation, and in the ensuing weeks you're able to run 12, 15 and 20 miles at a time - so your mindset is cementing your belief and this is making take more action.

When you take more action, you get better results.

So as you can see, it does indeed start with mindset, and the same applies to most things that we'd like to achieve, from business goals to personal goals.
