This might sound like a strange title for san article, but if you spend any time fishing with live worms, it's most certainly worth investigating. Transporting live worms normally involves buying the worms in a tackle shop or store and then keeping the worms in the container they are sold in. The worms are then taken out of the container as they're needed. This is all fine if the angler doesn't move around much. If you're simply going still fishing with live worms the aforementioned method works just fine.
The dilemma in transporting live worms comes into play with the angler, like myself, who lives to move around a lot while fishing. For example, wading up and down a river while fishing the entire time. For anglers like myself, carrying containers of live worms became quite a hassle, and having to dig into my vest every time I needed a worm was just a pain in the butt. This situation caused me to come up with a very simple, yet amazingly effective solution to the problem of transporting live worms.
That solution is called a bait bag. The bait bag is attached to your belt, fishing vest, shirt, or whatever, and holds your live worms. So, you buy your worms as you normally would, then when it's time to fish you simply remove the worms from their container, place them into the bait bag, and you're off. Your fishing worms are now hanging right there at your fingertips, waiting to be used. It's perfect!
People used to say to me, "That's cool, but the worms will just crawl out of the bag, right?" Wrong. Once they are in the bait bag, the worms just nestle into a ball waiting to be used, it's a beautiful thing. Then, when I'm done fishing, I simply take the leftover worms out of the bait bag and return then to their original container for my next fishing trip. A bait bag is a simple solution to what used to be a very annoying problem, transporting live worms.
Once you begin employing a bait bag, you won't fish with live worms without one, it's as simple as that. So make yourself a bait bag or purchase one, it makes no difference, what's important ids that you begin using one sooner rather than later. With the use of a simple concept like the bait bag, the way we transport live worms while fishing has changed forever.
