[A117]Abdominal Pain During Pregnancy
by Lesley Lyon, Les
Women wanted to conceive should have the preconception check up with her doctor before getting pregnant. They are expected to inform the doctor about any pain that may face and in particular any pain in the lower abdomen and the pelvic area during their visit.

During the period of ovulation, it is a common problem for the women to face a severe pain on one side of the ovary. This pain will be for a short period and will occur during the mid cycle. Medical attention is not required for the same. But some of them do take pills to get rid of the pain.

A very serious type of the pain during ovulation is called as the dysmenorrheal. It mainly happens during the period of menstruation and requires a pain reliever or the hormones for the control of the problem.

When one gets the pain in the region of pelvic unexpectedly, then this is considered as the infection sign. Bacterial will play the vital role in the reproductive organs as it does in the other parts of the body. The infection occurred near the ovary will also create pain. The infection present in the ovary will lead to sores and if the same is not treated properly then this will turn to infertility.

The pregnant women will feel the pains and the aches which they would not have felt before. This may be due to the earlier undiagnosed troubles like the PCOS or some serious issues.

Hence, the women should consult the physician immediately when they feel any pain in the pelvic region, vaginal area, ovaries or in the lower abdomen. The pregnant women who have the pain in the ovary during their 1st trimester should consult their doctor immediately as these may be the signs of impulsive abortion, septic abortion, ectopic pregnancy and uterine fibroids.

After some months of pregnancy, they may foresee pelvic pain which will attribute to the ligament pain throughout and in turn affect the entire area of the uterine. These increasing pains are mainly due to the growth and the stretching of the uterus.

Women with the earlier c section will develop adhesions very close to the scar tissue. This may turn into pain in the abdomen during the growth of the baby and will be misunderstood as the pain in the ovary.

The various other causes of the ovary pain during pregnancy will be constipation, stones in the kidney, appendicitis and infection or a disease in the gall bladder.
