The modern web log, or blog, has evolved from the online diary kept by a few people to where it is today. While personal sites remain, many are topic specific with text, graphics, photos and links to other sites. By signing up with affiliate programs you can place ads of your choosing for companies of your choosing and receive a sales commission for referral sales. By combining several streams of income from your blog site, it is possible to earn enough of an income to make blogging your full time job.
