Before donning your favorite swimwear and heading off to the direction of Leadbetter Beach, you may want to take a minute or two in reading some of our beach tips.The sun is scorching. Do not be fooled by the cool breezes coming from the ocean. We know that achieving the perfect tan for the summer is like personal Mount Everest to some girls. We have nothing against tanning. On the other hand, if you do not want to have skin cancer, use sunscreen liberally. When we say liberally, we mean always and in every part of your exposed skin. There are many types of sunscreen products. If you are not fan of lotions, then go for the spray-on. The important thing is you are protecting yourself from the harmful UV rays. This is not an advertisement for Nivea. We simply want you to enjoy Leadbetter Beach and you can't do that if you are suffering from sunburn.

Take a hint from the locals. When you have plans in going to Leadbetter Beach, don't forget to bring a hat, better yet, wear one on your way. Baseball cap, fisherman's hat, visor? Whatever works for you is fine so long as it fits your head.

Include water in your to-bring list. Considering the physical activities that can be done in the beach, it is advisable to have a bottle, or two, of mineral water handy. You never know when somebody asks you to participate in casual beach volleyball.

Of course, if it is really an impromptu trip, be sure that you have your wallet, or some loose change, on your pockets. Drinks, hats, sunscreen, and everything else can be bought in the beach.
