Someone who has never been addicted may have trouble comprehending drug and alcohol cravings. For the individual who is an alcoholic or drug addict life usually depends on getting and using the substance in which they are addicted to. To the addict nothing is more important not ones family, home, job or anything else. No one wants to be an addict but, for those who are addicted finding a way out of the trap is harder than meets the eye when drug and alcohol cravings exist. Whether the addictive substance is alcohol, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine or marijuana when the cravings are in full effect, stealing, lying and other non optimum actions are completely insignificant compared to the overwhelming need to satisfy the intense cravings to prevent sickness, pain and withdrawal. These feelings of sickness and pain are nothing more than recorded memories retained by the user to remind them of how torturous withdrawal can be. When a person consumes drugs and alcohol they retain a recorded memory of the experience, good or bad. Also, when drugs or alcohol are introduced into the body they are filtered by the liver and they leave metabolites, which are protein based by products of the filtration. Each drug has its own metabolite and while some of these metabolites leave the body through sweat and urine others remain in the body and bond with fatty tissue. Luckily for us all there is a way to eliminate the cravings and detoxify the body of all toxins. The first step in doing so is getting knowledgeable about drugs and the cause of addiction to drugs. Most people think that drug addiction is just something that happens to people but, the truth is that drug addiction is what occurs when an individual is trying to deal with some sort of pain or problem in their life that they themselves do not want to confront or can't confront. So, how does a person overcome the cravings for drugs and alcohol? The best way to overcome these cravings is to first do what's called a sauna detoxification program which will eliminate all remaining drug residues from the body. This process must be done under the supervision of a trained professional and once the body is ride of all drug toxins it's then easier for the individual to confront the actual problem seeing that the drugs are no longer there to mask the problem. Once this process is over it's best to follow through with a continued program that will help the individual to target the real reasons behind their abuse of the drugs. Also, taking responsibility for their actions and the hurt and pain they have caused to others around them such as their family and friends. Getting through addiction and coming out on the other side is never an easy task but, for those who have accomplished this great feat they can tell you that it's well worth the time and money.
