Is it worth the price of admission? Clubs and bars in Scandinavia's main urban areas often get rave reviews from travelers.

Here are some highlights:

The fashionable neighborhood around Solli Plass is home to some of the best upscale nightspots in Oslo. However, many people might be on the lookout for something cheaper. Norwegian style pubs have plenty of beer on tap and they all serve good grub as well. Clubs are notoriously expensive but notoriously happening in the capital city of Norway.

In Stockholm, the place to drink and be seen is Stureplan. This nightlife neighborhood boasts nightclubs (called ?discos? in local slang) and upscale pubs. On weekend nights, the streets outside are as happening as what's going on in the venues. A cheaper night out can be found in the pubs of the city's S'dermalm district. Cheap doesn't mean lacking in quality in S'dermalm. There are quality beers on tap at most of the area's pubs. Stockholm also boasts a large number of live music venues.

In both Stockholm and Oslo, most younger people (i.e. those you will run into in the clubs) are quite proficient in English.

That is also the case in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. Things are a bit more laid back there. For many people, a night out consists of hanging around in a caf?. Of course in Denmark, caf's serve beer and wine in addition to coffee-based beverages. Later on in the evening, dance clubs around the city center, R'dhuspladsen, get hot. Unlike Sweden and Norway, Denmark's clubs stay open until the sun comes up.

So Scandinavia can be expensive. But you won't be at a loss for things to do, especially when the sun goes down.
