Ever wonder why fires attract moths? Well scientifically speaking there is the light, the heat and the movement of the flames. These factors capture the attention of the moth, mesmerizes them and before they know it they are engulfed in the flame. Us as humans do not differ much. We are as much as delighted with its light. We are as much as attracted to its heat. And we are as much as mesmerized by its dance. Good for us we know enough not to get too close, too bad for the moths though.
Fire is beautiful but it is dangerous and yet there are those that perform using fire, and these are not one time acts but a profession. Fire performers as they are called, know how to play with fire without getting burned- a feat I am sure the moth would like to have. There are many types of fire performers and although these acts all use fire, each performance is unique. There are fire jugglers, fire dancers, fire twirlers, fire eaters and fire breathers.
Fire jugglers specialize in throwing about and catching flaming objects. They make use of flaming torches in their juggling performances. Juggling three torches is considered easy and four is common. To complicate their performance, fire jugglers perform in pairs. They may do synchronized juggling or juggle with torches thrown by their partners.
Fire dancers accentuate their grace with the use of fire. A fire dancer's performance is one of a kind. The graceful movement accompanied by alluring music is a wonder in its own. Combine these with the dancer's unique glow accentuated by the low light of the fire is simply breath-taking. Fire dancers are commonly clothed sparingly with flowing lace or silk. Their clothes are meant to have as much skin as possible radiated by the flame. Commonly, fire dancers hold flaming batons that they twirl and throw around. Fire dancers also make use of burning hoops to make their performance more thrilling. A fire dancer can be seen as a background performance for a variety of occasions such as New Year celebrations and weddings.
Fire eaters and fire breathers are simply out of this world. They put flammable liquid on their mouth. Then they get a flaming torch and blows like they belong to some fire dragon clan. Flames can be seen actually touching their lips and hurling out of their mouth. The marvel of a fire breather's performance can only be matched with its danger. Even though fire eaters and fire breathers are masters of their craft, accidents do happen. However if done properly, a fire breather's performance can surely light up a show. Fire breathers are often as part of a circus act. Some celebrations such as town festivals and parades hire fire performers to attract the crowd.
Fire performances are done by professionals. These individuals train for months, even years to perfect their craft. Their dedication is reflected by the magnificence of their performance and acknowledged by the cheers of their audience.
