The Royal Aragonese College Of Arms

The Royal Aragonese College of Arms or R.A.C.A. is a corporation
of Kings of Arms and Chroniclers, Heralds and Pursuivants under the jurisdiction of H. R. H. the Duke of Perpignan, Head of the Royal House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily, Grand Master of the Militare Ordine del Colalre (Military Order of the Collar, MOC).

The Royal College has the following corporate duties:
(a) To register and record the Arms and Genealogies of Noble, Titled and Armigerous Families conceded, recognized and confirmed by the Chief of Name and Arms of the Royal House of Aragon, Majorca and Sicily;
(b) To register and record in the Golden Book of the Aragonese Nobility (L.O.N.A.) the Noble} Titled and Armigerous Families registered in accordance with paragraph 2 (a)
(c) To issue Certificates of Titles and/or existing Arms, which are already registered in the L.O.N.A.
(d) To attribute, on the receipt of a petition of a third party, by means of their own Letters Patent, Grants of Arms and Augmentations of Arms;
(e) To issue, on the request of a third party, Certificates of Family Trees and/or Pedigrees;
(f) To formulate} on the request of H. R. H. the Duke of Perpignan, or his deputy, Regulations, Ceremonials, Precedents and Forms of Protocol for the use of the Court and the Aragonese Institutions;
(g) To co-operate with the Marshal of the Militare Ordine del Collare (Military Order of the Collar, MOC) in the observance of the Regulations of the Insignia and Uniforms and of the Ceremonials and Heraldry of the Order;
(h) To keep the Record of Noble Members of the MOC in its original form;
(i) To issue Warrants of Appointment of Pursuivants of Arms;

Senior Members of the Royal College, appointed for life by Royal Decree on the recommendation of the Chapter are:
The King of Arms and Chronicler of Aragon; The King of Arms and Chronicler of Perpignan; The King of Arms and Chronicler of Sicily; The King of Arms and Chronicler of Patern?. The Kings of Arms, Heralds of Arms and Pursuivants of Arms without exception wear tabards of the Coat of Arms of HRH the Duke of Perpignan velvet and cloth of gold or satin for a King of arms, satin or brocade for a herald or pursuivant of arms. The tabard is worn over whatever garment may be decided on by the Kings of Arms. For convenience, especially when travelling to another country, all the Officers of Arms may wear the mantle of the Militare Ordine del Collare (Military Order of the Collar, MOC), except for ceremonies where they attend on HRH the Duke of Perpignan. The tabards are worn at the discretion of kings of arms and heralds of arms; pursuivants of arms may not wear tabards without the express authorization of a king of arms or a herald of arms. Kings of arms may carry a sceptre of gold or silver gilt or a wand of white wood. Heralds of arms and pursuivants of arms may carry a traditional wand of white wood. All officers of arms may wear a Jewel of Office of gold or silver gilt enameled with the Arms as used on the tabards and suspended from the neck by a chain of gold or silver gilt; the Jewel of Office may always be worn and constitutes a "travelling tabard".
