Home Based Business ? Dream Or Nightmare
by Laura Gemme Laura Gemme, Lau
Thinking about working from home? You've likely heard mixed reviews. The Internet is inundated with ?work from home? opportunities ? some great and viable, and others a little scary?and definitely not viable. You wonder, can you really make a lucrative income working from home? Absolutely. Is it a good choice for you? That depends on many factors, including your personality type, your other responsibilities, skills and professional attributes, and the work-from-home opportunity you choose.

Here are some considerations I would recommend:

THE DREAM (a.k.a. benefits)
?Amazing Flexibility: You choose which hours you work.
?Independence: You make your own business decisions without a hierarchy of approval.
?Productivity: You can actually be more productive working from home.
?Comfort: Situate yourself near a window so that you can see green grass and trees while you work. You no longer need to sit in a chair that hurts your back. Nor do you need to listen to co-workers? gossip or complaints while trying to get something done.
?Financial Success: You are paid in direct relation to what you do, how you do it, and how much time and effort you put in. For me, this is the single most gratifying part of working from home.

THE NIGHTMARE (a.k.a. potential challenges)
?Sporadic or Inconsistent Income: The days of receiving a bi-monthly or monthly check in the same amount would be over. It can often take a number of months before you see a consistent level of income generated each month.
?Working Alone: Some people thrive working alone, while others suffer.
?Benefits: With most home-based businesses, you are a business owner or contractor.
?Responsibility: Taking full responsibility for your income, success, and every decision in between can be exhilarating, or can be daunting.
?Out-of-Pocket Operating Costs: Some home-based businesses require start-up costs, ongoing fees, or both. Nevertheless, be careful! Beware of ?too-good-to-be-true get-rich-quick? schemes.

I found a model that works beautifully for me, and you can learn more at www.sixfiguregoals.com. The business requires work, but the compensation is well worth every effort expended. They provide full training and support from their corporate offices. As a single mom, I now have a much-desired flexible schedule, as well as a generous income, while helping others through the work that I do. I have never looked back and would love to see others enjoy the same success and wonderful lifestyle. You can have it all'if you believe you can.
