Although multitude people expect all londoners to be cheerful cockney characters straight out of Dickens, nothing could be less accurate. in fact, London is a diverse place that boasts residents of all nationalities and religions. because of this, it's estimated that over 300 different languages are spoken in the city.

London has an interesting history that goes back over 2 000 years. within this time, the city has become one of the cultural and financial capitals of the world. its also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, and terrorism.

London suffered especially when the second world war. It suffered bad damage from bombs when this time and many of thousands of children in the city were evacuated out to the greenery to avoid the bombs. The worst bombing occured between 7 September 1940 and 10 May 1941.

The museums & art galleries in London are the best in the country. One of the favourite art galleries is the Tate Modern, which is situated on the site of the former Bankside Power Station. The gallery opened in 2000 & it boasts a vast range of permanent collections by artists for instance Warhol, Peter Blake & Picasso, in addition to touring exhibitions. access to various exhibitions is free.

From unusual markets to designer outlets, London boasts some amazing shopping opportunities.

Oxford street is generally known as the finest shopping street in great britain. The street has topshop's renowned flagship store, as well as a massive Selfridges, which was established there in 1909. recently, a massive Primark store opened on the street & it has turned out extremely popular with shoppers.

London has excellent night life, which we're sure that all of us will find wonderful. From excellent culture, to exclusive nightclubs and wine bars, there is something for everyone in London.

One of the most famous nightclubs is the Embassy, which is a members club on Old Burlington st. The club is quite expensive, but it's full of celebs and excellent for star spotting. in addition to this, it serves excellent food by michelin starred Garry Hollihead.

As it is such a huge place, London is extremely simple to get to. in actual fact, it is well-connected by rail and boasts some friendly train stations, comprising of London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston and Liverpool street. in addition to this, the city also has three massive airports, Heathrow; Stanstead and Luton.

Driving in London can be tricky due to the congestion charge, but the city has a marvellous underground and bus network to help people get around.
