Everyone talks about how great private label rights are and how they are amazing and everyone should be using them. But what very few people talk about is the disadvantages of PLR. Some people think ?What possible disadvantages could there be to PLR? It is content that someone else wrote for you!?. Exactly. That is the problem. Yes, it is great that you don't have to come up with your own content, but there are still a couple of problems with private label rights.
First of all, because someone else wrote it and is selling it to other people, you now have the exact same content that hundreds or even thousands of other people have. This means that your content is not unique to your website or blog, so no one has any reason to come back to your site because they can find the content you have elsewhere, and those other sites may also contain unique content. So because PLR are sold or given to hundreds or thousands of other people, there is nothing special about your website, even if it is good content.
The next problem is that the content does not contain your personality. Everyone has a different personality, and it often shows in their articles. Their personality often attracts people to their websites. That is why some blogs are so popular, because the person who owns the blog has a personality that appeals to the people that visit the blog. With private label rights, your personality does not show. The personality of the person who wrote the original article or content is what shows. And since hundreds or thousands of other people are using this same content, this personality is all over the internet, and therefore will most likely not appeal to many people, as it is not fresh and exciting.
These are the main disadvantages associated with PLR content. A lot of people selling PLR will not tell you about these disadvantages because they just want you to purchase their products. So beware, there are disadvantages to using private label rights content, and it just might outweigh the advantages.
But do not despair, in my next article I will discuss the easiest methods of solving these problems so that you can use PLR content to it's fullest potential, and still save yourself a lot of time.
